On February 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Dong was sentenced to five years in prison by the Gansu Provincial Court. His so-called “crimes” were “illegally connecting with a foreign anti-China force,” and “illegally accepting interviews.”
Zhang is one of nearly 3,000 Falun Gong practitioners whose deaths due to torture and abuse by police in China have been documented.
The deaths of 17 Falun Gong practitioners who died as a result of the persecution in China were verified in September 2006. The deaths of 2,966 Falun Gong practitioners from persecution have been verified despite the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s strict information blockade.
The young girl’s name is Zhu Xiuyun from Aobao Village, Hujietumo Town, Taikang County, Daqing City. Under the manipulation and instigation of Li Shilin, teenager Zhu Xiuyun was arrested and detained and sentenced to three years in Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison.
Sources confirmed in August 2006 that another 18 Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China died as a result of persecution. Ten of these practitioners were women, which accounts for 56% of the total deaths. Nine practitioners were above the age of 50, making up 50% of the total deaths. The youngest practitioner was 30-year-old while the oldest was 72-year-old.
As more people come to recognize the truth about Falun Gong and the nature of the Chinese Communist Party, some within the Chinese justice department have begun to stand up for Falun Gong. Reportedly, four hundred lawyers in China have publicly called for the reversal of the persecution of Falun Gong.
In April 2006, 23 cases of Dafa practitioners in Mainland China dying from the persecution were confirmed. Among them are 11 female practitioners, 48% of the total; nine of the 23 practitioners, 39% of the total who died, were over 55 years old.
On the issue of gathering evidence, I can disclose an outline of the government’s process that I had encountered, in the hopes that relevant organizations can learn tips from it. Due to safety reasons, I still cannot disclose the entire process. Here I will describe parts of the process.
