(Minghui.org) During the height of the summer vacation season, Falun Dafa practitioners organised information events in five coastal cities, Constanța, Mamaia, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, and Mangalia, from August 6-13, 2023.
Each day during the week, the practitioners started by demonstrating the Falun Dafa exercises from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tăbăcăriei Park in Constanța or Diana Park in Mangalia. In the evening, practitioners set up information booths in high-traffic areas in each of the five cities to introduce the practice to tourists and locals alike.
Practitioners had discussions with many passersby about the benefits of Falun Dafa and the practice’s values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, as well as the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Many passersby commented about the positive energy practitioners carried and the positive energy of the exercises, and many condemned the CCP’s persecution.
A Teacher Encourages Practitioners to Persevere in Their Beliefs
Iusein Sibel, 44, is a teacher who approached the practitioners in Mamaia. After hearing about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China, she expressed sympathy for the practitioners, as she is well aware of the brutality of communist regimes.
She told the practitioners that she had visited the Memorial of Pain in Maramureș and was shocked by the inhumane acts that the communists committed in Romania, so she understood the brutal nature of the CCP. She wished to see an end to the persecution in China, so practitioners would not be tortured and killed.
Sibel said she values physical freedom and freedom of expression for all people, and these rights should be upheld, especially for a group of people who are trying to live moral lives. “Falun Gong is something very good because it helps people and it would be good for it to be spread more broadly and reach more people. Everyone needs to know what is happening in China. In fact, moral values are persecuted in China. By persecuting Falun Gong practitioners who uphold these values, morality is persecuted,” she commented.
As an educator, Sibel said she wishes to educate children so that they can live moral lives. The practitioners gave her a children’s book that illustrates the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to take to her students, and also a link to a video version of the book. Sibel said that she would show her students the video so that they could learn to live according to these values.
Before she left, Sibel had a message for the Falun Dafa practitioners who are still facing suppression in China: “Endure and have confidence, because the world is with you.”
Young People Admire Falun Dafa
Many young people visited practitioners at the booth. They were drawn to the origami lotus flower charms and the relaxing exercise music.
Bianca, Gabriel, and Roxana are students who stopped by the booth in Mamaia. A practitioner handed them lotus flower charms that had the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance on them as a gift and introduced the practice and its principles to them in detail.
The three students were happy to learn about a practice that could help people improve their morality and thanked the practitioner. Gabriel told the practitioner that he feels like they give off a good aura. “I really like the atmosphere here at your booth, and the music gives me a wonderful feeling, I would like to stay and keep listening to it,” he said.
The young students also took booklets about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China to read in their own time.
Simona, 16, is a martial arts fan who has practiced judo for seven years. Seeing another Asian school of practice intrigued her, and she stopped to watch practitioners perform the exercises in Constanța.
After hearing the introduction of the practice and its values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Simona liked the values very much. “I’m excited that there is such a good practice in the world and that it has reached Romania,” she said. “I will tell my friends to read about it!”
Supporting How the Practitioners Raise Awareness of the Persecution
Alexandru Bârlădeanu, 72, understands the history of communism very well. He said that the values of Falun Dafa stand directly opposite of the values of communism, which lead people to destroy each other. “Between the moral values of Falun Dafa and communist ideology, there is a difference like heaven and earth. Communism must be destroyed to get rid of poverty.”
Upon learning about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, Bârlădeanu was appalled. He exclaimed in horror, “God forbid! This is weird, disastrous, and chaotic. They must be brought to justice!”
Two men went to the practitioners’ booth and asked about the event. After hearing a practitioner’s explanation, one of the men said that it was “the most beautiful way to raise awareness!”
Transylvanian Ensemble Learns about Falun Dafa
A folk performance by a Transylvanian ensemble was taking place at the same time as the practitioners’ event in Eforie Sud. A large number of people in their native dress from the troupe stopped to learn about the practice. One of them left a photo with practitioners in support of their efforts. The performers took flyers and lotus flowers with them.
The children in the troupe also received children’s books that taught Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
A couple was thrilled with the practice and its principles and said it took effort to be able to hold themselves to such high standards. “It’s not always easy to be kind and tolerant,” the gentleman observed with a smile.
