A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way

(Minghui.org) There was a clothing store owned by an elderly couple near my home. I often talked to them about Falun Dafa.

While the husband is very quiet and doesn’t talk much, the wife is very receptive and identifies with Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. When I gave her informational materials about Dafa and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, she shared them with her friends and neighbours.

Every now and then I went to their shop to talk to them. Sometimes the wife would ask me why I waited so long to bring her new materials. She often tried to give me small gifts to show her gratitude but I would always pay for them.

When I stopped by the shop a few days ago, she showed me a plaque someone gave her and asked me what it meant. It read “厚德载物,” meaning “Great virtue carries the world.” I explained to her that as a human being only when we value virtue can we carry the world on our shoulders. She understood and was very happy about it.

She then told me how she came to have the plaque. “Someone in his 90s was passing by our store one day. He looked very tired and was looking for a place to rest. I invited him into the store and gave him some water. After he recovered, I called a taxi to take him home and paid for it. Not long after, his two sons came and gave me the plaque.”

She went on, “I learned this from you Dafa disciples. We should all do more good deeds. When people asked me for directions, if it’s not too far away, I often take them there myself, so that they don’t get lost.”

I was very happy to hear her story and I was touched by Dafa’s grace in changing people’s hearts.

Sanitation Worker Unhurt after Hit-and-run Accident

I ran into a sanitation worker not long ago. I have known him for several years and thoroughly explained the facts about Dafa to him. I often gave him informational materials about Dafa. After he read the brochures, he shared them with his neighbors and his neighbor once saw the booklets radiating light.

He told me that he had been hit by a car a few days before. It was snowing and not many people were out. Both he and the driver lost consciousness and laying out in the street. After they came to, the driver didn’t say anything and ran away. The sanitation worker stood up and was delighted to find himself unscathed. “I knew the Master of Falun Dafa must have protected me!” he said.

He told me that he knew another sanitation worker who’d been hit by a car and ended up spending over 70,000 yuan in medical bills yet he was still disabled.

A Happy Family

I’m 79 now and have four granddaughters. Three of them have graduated from college and started working. The youngest one is now in high school. Because I have been practicing Dafa for over 20 years, my granddaughters all grew up under Dafa’s influence and they all keep in mind Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.

After my oldest granddaughter got married in 2021, I gave her a Minghui calendar with lucky cherubs on it. Not long after, she became pregnant and soon gave birth to a baby boy.

When I visited the granddaughter during the new year, her husband took some Dafa materials. The next morning, he told me excitedly that a tough problem he had faced for a long time was suddenly resolved that morning.
