Introducing Falun Dafa in Vanuatu

Nine Falun Dafa practitioners from New Zealand introduced Falun Dafa on October 19-24, 2019, in Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu, a small nation north of New Zealand. Practitioners visited churches, business centres, schools, hospitals, radio stations, and villages.

Vanuatu is made up of roughly 80 islands and has a population of around 270,000. The people of Vanuatu warmly welcomed the practitioners, and were happy to learn about Falun Dafa. They supported the practitioners’ work to end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, and some learned the Falun Dafa exercises.

Exposing the CCP’s Persecution

Practitioners visited a church and talked to a pastor, who invited them to introduce Falun Dafa to the church attendees.

A practitioner introduced the practice and spoke about the CCP’s persecution of practitioners in China. Everyone received a copy of the introductory flier.

Practitioners also distributed fliers outside of the largest supermarket in Port Vila. Many people asked for more detailed information.

They praised the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and condemned the CCP’s atrocities, especially its crime of harvesting organs from living practitioners. Some asked for additional fliers to help spread the word.

Two local teachers told the practitioners that they had heard about the human rights violations perpetrated in China. They were concerned about the CCP’s investments in Vanuatu.

Some people from Australia and New Zealand said they had heard about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa and encouraged practitioners to not give up.

The practitioners told Chinese workers at the port about the persecution. A Chinese woman said she had personal experience with the CCP’s evil doings.

Her relatives had been monitored and persecuted for safeguarding their rights. She worried that there were Chinese people who wouldn’t be able to recognise the evil nature of the CCP. She decided to quit the CCP and its youth organisations.

When the practitioners told a Chinese man about quitting the communist organisations, the man replied, “I quit all of them a long time ago. I have downloaded the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and often listen to it on my cell phone.” The man said he knew that Falun Dafa was great.

Teaching the Dafa Exercises

During the five days in Port Vila, practitioners demonstrated and taught the Falun Dafa exercises in Independence Park every afternoon for free.

Walt, a local resident, was excited to learn the exercises. He returned the next day and told practitioners that his celestial eye had opened after doing the Falun Dafa exercises, and he could see many beautiful things in other dimensions. He meditated with the group and invited them to teach in his village.

Adults and children in his village stood in a circle and learned the exercises. Walt said to the practitioners, “I wish I could build a huge palace and invite you to teach there!”

A woman named Rosalie brought her sister to the practitioners’ hotel to learn the Falun Dafa exercises. She asked a practitioner to record the teaching for her so that she could watch them.

After learning the exercises, Rosalie said the pain in her shoulders and heart were gone. She wanted to continue doing the exercises every morning and said she would ask her family to learn them as well.

Introducing Falun Dafa in a School and to the Media

Practitioners also visited some schools and taught the exercises to teachers and students. School employees in charge of extracurricular activities exchanged contact information with practitioners and said they hoped to invite practitioners to teach again in the future.

Practitioners visited the FM 96.3 radio station and talked to a radio host. The host was very touched after hearing about Falun Dafa. He invited the practitioners to his radio show and gave them 30 minutes to introduce the practice.

Editors took pictures with practitioners and said they would like to learn Falun Dafa too.
