Mr. Li Yinglin, a Falun Gong practitioner has recently been verified as having died from internal injuries sustained from the beating. All of his toenails were broken off, a square piece of flesh was cut out of his left heel, his genitals and other areas of his body were covered in blue and purple patches.
On April 25, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Melbourne held a series
of activities to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Zhongnanhai appeal.
The events were held at the Royal Exhibition Building, South Bank, Yarra River
Bridge and in front of the Chinese Consulate.
Five years ago on April 25, 1999, approximately 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners went to appeal to the State Council’s Appeals Office on Fuyou Street in Beijing. The world stood still as the Falun Gong practitioners appealed in a peaceful, rational, trusting, tolerant and highly self-disciplined manner.
Recently, China once more used a “no-action” motion to block passage of a resolution introduced by the Unites States at the 60th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, criticizing China’s human rights practices.
On the afternoon of April 24, 2004, in order to allow more people to learn about facts of the nearly five-year persecution, more than 60 Falun Gong practitioners from Melbourne went to the City Plaza in Downtown area to expose the Jiang’s group’s ruthless persecution of Falun Gong through a symbolic trial on the perpetrator Jiang Zemin.
Sydney Falun Gong practitioners came together the commemoration of the April 25 event in 1999. Lots of people were shocked that in the 21st century there are such human rights atrocities.
Bo Xilai, the Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, was served with a lawsuit during his visit to the United States. The complaint, brought by Li Weixum and others, alleges such serious human rights abuses as torture, genocide and other crimes against humanity carried out while persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Since the introduction of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) to the public in Mainland China nearly 12 years ago, the virtues and peaceful nature of this ancient practice have truly touched the hearts of millions worldwide.
The annual Austin garden show was held on March 27 and 28 at the Austin Botanic Garden. To allow more people learn about the facts of the persecution in China, Falun Gong practitioners from Austin brought their hand-folded paper lotus flowers (symbolizing peace) and told visitors moving stories behind these “petals of peace”.
Australian Falun Gong practitioner Phillip Law published an open letter
to the public on April 8. In the letter, he called for help rescuing his
fiancée, Shirley Sie, who has been falsely arrested and held by authorities
following the persecution policies of Jiang Zemin in China.
