July 20, 2008 marks the ninth year that Falun Gong practitioners have worked against the persecution. Practitioners have remained uncompromising and persevering in clarifying the truth and calling for an end to the persecution. Many people have shown support for Falun Gong, some by joining the practitioners in holding up display boards.
On the evening of July 20 2008, Australian Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney arrived at Town Hall and quietly ignited candles. They sat in the gentle breeze, in mourning for fellow practitioners who have been persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for upholding the principals of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. The practitioners called for an immediate end to the brutal persecution that has gone on for the past nine years.
With one month to go before the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony, Chinese security agencies continue to arrest Falun Gong adherents throughout China in large numbers. In Beijing alone, hundreds have been arrested and dozens sentenced to labour camps without trial.

In the run up to the Olympics, Falun Gong practitioners in Australia and other countries including Japan, Poland and the US have become the victim of violent attacks instigated by Chinese officials.
The Falun Dafa Information Center has obtained a recorded phone conversation with New York City’s Chinese Consul General, Mr. Peng Keyu, in which he confirms his role in organizing a mob of several-hundred Chinese immigrants to assail Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York. The recording was made on Thursday May 22 by an undercover investigator and lasts for 5 minutes and 7 seconds. During the conversation, Peng appears to boast of his involvement, saying “Oh indeed, we have done it.”
Two United Nations Special Rapporteurs have reiterated their previous findings on China’s organ harvesting. Once again, they requested the Chinese government to fully explain the allegation of taking vital organs from Falun Gong practitioners and the source of organs for the sudden increase in organ transplants that has been going on in China since the year 2000.
Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Flushing, New York to practice the exercises, and to later pass out truth-clarifying materials to local people. Following the pattern of recent weeks, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) instigators organized a few attacks of practitioners, but for the most part, local Chinese seemed supportive.
New York City police have arrested at least six members of a pro-Communist mob which attacked Falun Gong practitioners in the New York suburb of Flushing. Pro-communist mobs, numbering as many as 600, have been a consistent presence in intimidating Falun Gong adherents since May 17th. The attacks have frequently escalated to violence. The events are believed to have been orchestrated by the Chinese consulate in New York, as revealed by a telephone recording with the Chinese consul general in which he boasts of his involvement.
