(AFDI) – As part of the on-going campaign to raise awareness about the human rights crisis in China, Melbourne will host a series of events between 12th – 14th September, 2003.
AN Australian resident subjected to torture and persecution in China is to have her case championed in the United Nations Commission on Human Rights by eminent human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson.
A range of civil actions against Jiang Zemin and his persecution of Falun Gong members are under way internationally, but Ms Zhang’s case is unique in that it is an international legal action launched by an individual against the former Chinese president.

(AFDI) – On Thursday, 14th of August 2003, Australian Falun Dafa practitioners will gather at Parliament House to call on the Prime Minister to raise the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China during talks with the new Chinese leadership while visiting China.
Over the last four years, China watchers have proposed a variety of socio-political reasons for why the Chinese regime moved to crush Falun Gong – a benign exercise and meditation practice with ancient Chinese roots.
The 7th Australia-China Human Rights Dialogue is to be held today, 28th July in Beijing. Australian Falun Gong practitioners call upon government to have an open dialogue on human rights – Falun Gong issues with Chinese counterpart.
Hundreds of Falun Dafa practitioners are expected to participate in a dawn candle vigil at Circular Quay.

CID advised to contact the Chinese Embassy in Fiji for more information. When asked “Why the Chinese Embassy?” the Inspector replied, “Because the Chinese Embassy in Fiji brought them to us.” This is despite advice from the Fiji Human Rights Commission for this incident that Fiji is a free country which respects freedom of belief and that they should have no problems with the authorities.

since Falun Gong is practised in 60 countries, why is it that only in China
are there any ‘problems’?
