(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a series of activities in Varna to introduce the spiritual practice and expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution in August 2023. Some people signed a petition condemning the CCP’s human rights violations. An elderly Bulgarian man was moved to tears when he heard about the CCP’s organ harvesting from living practitioners.
Varna is located on the Black Sea coast and is the third largest city in Bulgaria. It is known as the “Marine Capital of Bulgaria” and is an important commercial, transportation, education, tourism, entertainment and medical centre. The green park located on the city’s coastline is called the “Varna Sea Garden.” Its beautiful scenery often draws tourists and local residents, and is very family friendly.
Practitioners do the Falun Dafa exercises twice a week in the park in summer. On the first and third Saturday of each month, information days are held at the main entrance of the garden to help people learn about Falun Dafa and the CCP’s persecution.
The CCP’s Brutality Stuns People
During the information day event on August 5, many people were shocked by the CCP’s brutal persecution. An old man shed tears when he heard about the CCP’s organ harvesting from practitioners while they were still alive, in order to make huge profits.
When a woman learned about how practitioners are persecuted, including the fact that they are detained, tortured, and even subjected to organ harvesting, she exclaimed, “This is terrible! This news is terrible!”
A young mother said she felt both sad and angry about what the CCP did to practitioners. She said, “It feels like the end of the world is coming.”
A Passerby Thanks Practitioners
On August 19, a woman went to the practitioners’ booth and asked why they were holding the event. The practitioner told her about the CCP’s persecution and how practitioners all over the world hold parades and peaceful protests to expose the persecution. The woman immediately said, “I’m going to sign the petition now.”
The practitioner thanked her for supporting the petition calling to stop the persecution. The woman replied, “No. We should thank you.” She said that it was a precious opportunity to stand with Falun Dafa practitioners against the brutal persecution.
Another woman talked with the practitioner for thirty minutes and finally signed the petition to express her support for Falun Dafa.
A man received a flyer and after hearing the practitioner’s explanation, he gave a thumbs up and said, “(Falun Dafa) is the right way.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organisation with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
