(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Taipei gathered at the New Taipei City Banqiao District Office on March 26 to read the Falun Dafa teachings and exchange understandings. The Shen Yun World Company gave its seventh performance at the Taipei Performing Arts Centre that day and practitioners talked about their experiences while promoting Shen Yun.

They described how they applied the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives. By looking within and identifying their attachments, they were able to constantly improve themselves and strengthen their righteous thoughts.

Practitioners gathered at the New Taipei City Banqiao District Office on March 26, 2023 to discuss their cultivation experiences.

Maintaining Righteous Thoughts Makes All the Difference

High school student Kuo Su talked about introducing Shen Yun to a friend. Because he lived in China for many years, this friend was brainwashed by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda. Instead of arguing, Kuo realised that she needed to be calm and open-minded. She praised China’s infrastructure, but pointed out that the basic human rights situation there was poor. Her friend seemed receptive, so Kuo shared some facts about Falun Dafa.

Although Shen Yun would tour Taiwan, Kuo did not expect too much of her friend. Nonetheless, she told him about it. Because he trusted Kuo, her friend thanked her and attended the tea party. After Shen Yun arrived in Taipei, Kuo reminded her friend. To her surprise, he agreed to watch the show.

There was a problem on the day of the performance. The friend had a medical procedure scheduled 30 minutes before the show, but he insisted that he would come on time in a taxi. Kuo did not give up and maintained righteous thoughts. The friend arrived on time and watched the performance.

The Power of Righteous Thoughts

Promoting Shen Yun offers practitioners many opportunities to improve themselves, said Hsueh Chin. Once the promotion team had an event on the street and they needed to call out to passersby. Being a shy person, Hsueh did not feel comfortable doing this, so she hesitated. Another practitioner encouraged her by saying, “You can do it.” So, Hsueh also called out to passersby and did it for two hours. The results were very good.

Another time, Hsueh was introducing Shen Yun at a tourist site. The wind was strong and another practitioner said to the digital marketing device on the table, “Please do not move.” The device did not move at all despite the strong wind. Seeing this, Hsueh also told her digital marketing device to stay put. It did and Hsueh witnessed the amazing power of righteous thoughts.

Looking back on these experiences, Hsueh realised that one should always look inward to improve oneself when encountering difficulties or challenges. “By doing so and always acting in a dignified manner, we will be walking on the path arranged by Master. Interference from the old forces will not work,” she said. “Plus, Master is protecting us.”

Looking Within

Yung Shou said that his wife sometimes complained, saying he always argued with her. “In the beginning, I did not get it because I felt the opposite,” he explained. “Later on I realised that although I seemed tolerant on the surface, I was still upset with her in my mind. That is not how a practitioner should be.” When his negative feelings surfaced again, he suppressed and negated them.

Although Yung loved his daughter, he was strict with her. One day his daughter said that he had too many rules. These words reminded Yung to look within. “I feel my daughter is a Falun Dafa practitioner, but I was often strict with her. But now I understand that each practitioner has his or her own situation,” Yung said. “Plus she is an adult now. I should treat her as a fellow practitioner and a friend.”

When reading Zhuan Falun recently, his wife Hsiao Lan said that she gained a deeper understanding of the section, “The Power of Clairvoyance.” It is hard to change another person’s fate, she said. “As practitioners, we should focus on improving ourselves. For those practitioners who are not truly cultivating themselves, the best we can do is help them maintain traditional values and cherish virtue.”
