A Country Woman’s Open Letter to the International Community of Judges and Lawyers

I am writing to tell you about the enormous hardships my family and I have suffered and to ask you to please help us in our efforts to gain redress of these injustices. I have been deprived of the most basic human rights, including the freedom of speech, the freedom of belief, and the right to legal recourse. We have suffered from brutal persecution, both physically and mentally. I want to file a lawsuit against the chief criminal responsible for this injustice.

Housewife Arrested and Detained in China: Disabled Husband Left Home Alone

Mrs. Guangzhen Li, a 66 year-old housewife and mother of New York resident Jin (Jason) Xiao, was arrested on March 15, 2004 in Hubei, China for handing out informational flyers in a public area. Authorities are holding Mrs. Li and two of her friends, both senior ladies, in Gongan County Detention Center in Hubei, China.

On September 2, 2003, the police arrested me at my home and took me to the Xidayingzi Forced Labor Camp in Chaoyang City again. When he saw me at the front gate of the labor camp, Jin Yucheng, the deputy head of the labor camp, told a group of policemen who were waiting there, “Get the electric batons ready.” Half an hour later, I was carried to a torture chamber at the labor camp.
