(Minghui.org) As of this most recent Chinese New Year, February 10, 2024, over 426 million Chinese people have announced their withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organisations. Not only is this an important decision for those who quit the Party, the large number also symbolises the dedication and hard work of the volunteers at the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP throughout the years.
Located in Markham, Toronto, Pacific Mall is the largest indoor Asian shopping mall in North America. Falun Dafa practitioners established a truth-clarification site there 14 years ago and many Chinese shoppers see it every day.
Regardless of how cold or hot the weather, Dafa practitioners set up banners, talk to people about the persecution of Falun Dafa, and expose the CCP’s crimes. Practitioners know that it is especially important to reach Chinese people, because even though they are overseas, many Chinese have been influenced by the CCP’s relentless slander against Falun Dafa. Many do not know what Falun Dafa really is, nor do they know the extent and brutality of the Chinese regime’s persecution of this peaceful cultivation practice.
Below are several accounts of conversations between the public and Service Centre volunteers.
Man Apologises to Falun Dafa Practitioners
Once, a man pointed to the banners and said, “You only dare to display these banners here. Would you dare to do this if you were in China?”
Ms. Gao, a volunteer for the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, replied, “These are Falun Dafa practitioners and some of them held banners [about the persecution] when they were in China. They do not fear danger and only wish to tell people the truth about Falun Dafa. They were illegally detained and persecuted for holding those banners while they were in China. Do you see how differently Dafa practitioners are treated inside China and outside of China? Have you joined the CCP or its affiliated organisations?”
The man said, “I only joined the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League.”
Ms. Gao said, “Then you should withdraw your membership from the Party’s affiliated organisations. No other organisation or political party makes you swear to give your life to it. I only learned this after I immigrated overseas. People should not casually take oaths or vows, because those vows must be honored. The CCP claims that their red flag was dyed with soldiers’ blood. The young pioneers’ red scarf represents a corner of that bloody flag. Do you really think it’s auspicious to wear it? The Party demands that you give your life for communism. However, all we see are corrupt Party officials.” The man listened quietly.
Ms. Gao continued, “Since you gave your life to the CCP, then weren’t you indirectly involved in murder during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and the ensuing massacre, when thousands of students were killed by the CCP? You have essentially been kidnapped by the CCP. Won’t you also be punished by Heaven [when the CCP’s day of reckoning comes]? COVID is targeting the CCP. You need to distinguish good from evil and withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organisations.”
The man said, “I understand now. I’d like to withdraw my membership from the CCP’s affiliated organisations.”
Ms. Gao added, “Do you know that Falun Dafa teaches people to maintain high moral standards? Practitioners are a group of kind people. We are all volunteers and hope that more people will awaken to the CCP’s lies.”
The man was moved and said, “Thank you. I finally understand now. I would like to apologise to you.”
Peoples’ Hearts Change
Ms. Gao shared another story. One day she sat next to three ladies who were wearing masks at Pacific Mall. Ms. Gao greeted them and said, “Hello, I would like to tell you how to avoid getting sick from the COVID pandemic. Viruses are microscopic and can penetrate through a mask. Therefore, wearing a mask does not solve the problem of avoiding the pandemic.”
One of the women angrily said, “Who are you? Are you a Christian or a Falun Dafa practitioner?”
Ms. Gao said, “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner.”
The lady got even angrier and said, “I will leave if you don’t leave now!” Ms. Gao decided to leave and not cause a confrontation.
After she walked a short distance, one of the women called out, “You left your cellphone!” Ms. Gao walked back and thanked the young lady. She offered her some money to express her gratitude but the woman said, “It’s okay. This is all pre-arranged by the Gods.”
Ms. Gao thought she should continue telling them about Falun Dafa since the young woman mentioned the divine. Ms. Gao said, “Do you know how terrible the pandemic is? The CCP has committed so many crimes that it will be punished by Heaven. The Gods are using this pandemic to punish the CCP and those who stand with it. Those who joined the CCP and its affiliated organisations will eventually fall with the Party. Do you know that you swore to give your life to the Young Pioneers when you were in elementary school? One should never swear so easily. As a child, I was severely reprimanded by my mother when I swore.”
The women then understood Ms. Gao’s good intentions and decided to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organisations.
“You are saving people.”
Ms. Gu is another volunteer with the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP. One day a woman stopped and read the truth-clarification poster attentively. She remarked, “I know the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa. I loathe the CCP and I know it’s evil.”
The woman also said that she was fired from her job because she told people about the CCP’s crimes. She added, “I’m not afraid of being fired. I just looked for another job. Many people are blinded by the CCP’s evil nature.”
Ms. Gu explained why she persists in helping Chinese people withdraw from the CCP. “I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997 and experienced the wonders of Dafa. After the persecution started I was sent to a forced labor camp twice for practicing Falun Dafa. I was being followed and my phone was tapped while in China.”
Ms. Gu expressed her wish to help people learn the truth of Falun Dafa, despite the dangers of the persecution. “I come to Pacific Mall every day,” she said. “Many people pass by and the mall is always open. During the Chinese New Year season, more Chinese people come to shop at the mall. I feel that I must not take a break—I must use every opportunity to tell people about Falun Dafa.”
The woman was moved by Ms. Gu’s perseverance. “Falun Dafa practitioners are admirable,” she said. “You are here every day. Some people claim that practitioners are paid to be here, but I know you are all volunteers. You are saving people.”
