(Minghui.org) Practitioners participated in the annual Rego Park Street Fair on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Booths and tents were set up on both sides of the street and endless streams of people came to the fair. Practitioners set up a booth, and many people were interested in learning to practice Falun Dafa. They also asked for updates on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa. Some left their information and planned to join Falun Dafa classes, while others learned the exercises during the event.
The practitioners’ bright yellow tent was eye catching amid the street fair vendors. Some practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises accompanied by melodious music, while others distributed informational flyers and paper lotus flowers to passersby.
The Persecution Should End Immediately
Fabrice, who works in a local bank, talked with the practitioners. After they explained what Falun Dafa is, he said, “Falun Dafa is very good. It is very quiet and peaceful. Practitioners pursue a higher moral realm. This is wonderful!”
He was shocked when he heard about the CCP’s ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and said, “This persecution is horrible. It should end immediately!”
Chris is a warehouse manager who grew up in Rego Park and he often visits the area.
Chris and his wife stopped at the practitioners’ booth and learned about the CCP’s ongoing persecution and forced live organ harvesting. Chris said, “There is something bad happening in the world every day. However, the things that Falun Dafa practitioners go through is very tragic and unfortunate. This persecution is too evil!”
Chris hopes the persecution ends soon and said he will pray for it to end immediately.
Locals Support Falun Dafa
Mary does marketing and was strolling around the street fair when she saw practitioners practicing the exercises and introducing Falun Dafa. She was happy to learn about Falun Dafa and said it is a great practice.
Mary said, “We live in a fast paced world, especially here in the United States. We should slow down and reflect on our thoughts. We also need to return to our origins. This is very important. We should not be interfered by others.”
After learning about force live organ harvesting, she said, “This is unbelievable. It sounds like something that happens in the movies, but this is real. This live organ harvesting is disgusting. The persecution is terrible and upsetting. I hope the persecution ends soon.”
Garcia Hidalgo works in a local pharmacy and chatted with a practitioner. She said that Falun Dafa is a great practice and she wanted to learn more about it. Garcia also wants to help practitioners end the persecution.
Roman lives nearby and he said that his wife is interested in Buddhism and she meditates. He thinks she might like the Falun Dafa exercises. He left his contact information and said he was interested in attending the free classes to learn the Falun Dafa exercises.
The street fair ended at around 6 p.m. Many people left their names and telephone numbers, and said they were interested in learning to practice Falun Dafa.
