(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held an event near the Mega Mall in Bucharest on March 4, 2023 to tell people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 23-year-long persecution of Falun Dafa in China.
March 4 was a Saturday, and many people were shopping in the mall. Practitioners set up a truth-clarification site near the entrance of the popular shopping centre. People were drawn by the peaceful Falun Dafa exercise music, and asked for brochures, calendars and lotus flowers with information about Falun Dafa.
Mrs. Trifu and her husband passed by the Falun Dafa booth. They stopped out of curiosity and asked what Falun Dafa was. They were happy to learn that Falun Dafa has been practiced in Romania for more than 20 years. They were also shocked when they were told how the CCP kills people who believe in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Mrs. Trifu said that these principles should be publicised as much as possible due to the situation in society today, where she believes there is not enough emphasis on morality. She emphasised that more information should be made available about the need for people to learn about the principles and the wonderful benefits of practicing Falun Dafa.
Groups of students, mainly between 9 and 15 years old, walked through the area and noticed the banners with the words: Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They stopped to talk with practitioners and learned about the CCP’s persecution in China. They listened carefully and were given miniature lotus flowers and leaflets.
A practitioner who participated in the event said that she interacted with two groups of children. Many of them, along with the women accompanying them, were very happy to receive the lotus flowers, calendars and leaflets.
A couple stopped by the booth and through gestures, facial expressions and glances, the woman asked for more information. The practitioner told them about Falun Dafa, mentioning the benefits of the practice and the fact that it is persecuted in China. Finally, she told them the principles, and the woman translated, using sign language, to the gentleman. In the end, the gentleman bowed his head in respect.
Among the passers-by interested in Falun Dafa there was a woman and her daughter from Ukraine. They said this was the first time they’d heard about Falun Dafa. The mother said that people are living in times when not only pandemics, war and natural calamities lead to disasters, but the CCP also commits crimes against Chinese people. Both mother and daughter said they had great compassion for Falun Dafa practitioners, and felt solidarity with them. They left with the promise that they would look for more information about Dafa on the Internet.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organisation with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years, though due to the difficulty in getting information out of China, the actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
