(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held an event on December 10, 2022, International Human Rights Day, on Commercial Street in Leuven, Belgium. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted the spiritual practice for 23 years.
Home of the first university established in Belgium, (1425) Leuven (Louvain) is the capital and largest city in the Flemish province of Brabant. A UNESCO world site, the city is richly decorated with sculptures and artworks dating back to Europe’s Middles Ages and is home to Katholiek University Leuven.
With Christmas just around the corner, the streets were filled with people holiday shopping despite the cold weather. Many people were attracted by the melodious music as practitioners demonstrated the exercises. They stopped to watch and talked to practitioners.
Several said that Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are precious values for mankind. Some condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) persecution of Falun Dafa, while others asked where they could learn to practice Falun Dafa.
Jaco and Bianca talked with practitioners for a long time. They both said they liked Falun Dafa’s principles, Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and were shocked to learn that the CCP persecutes practitioners. They also said that they’ve been seeking the truth about life.
Talking about Falun Dafa’s principles, Bianca said that being broad-minded and accommodating the differences between ourselves and others require tolerance. She said, “I think that this is fundamental during interactions with others and myself too.”
Jaco said that Falun Dafa’s principles are very good for society. He thinks that people should forever respect these true principles. “The CCP persecutes Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. This is unreasonable. How can someone object to these principles?”
He said that as practitioners become stronger and greater because of their persistence in being truthful, the CCP persecutes them for it. He thinks that the CCP objects to Falun Dafa’s principles in order to make the Chinese people live in fear. He said the Party does not let people have any freedom. However, the CCP cannot hide and control the truth forever.
Tom Vandewalle is a student studying history. He praised Falun Dafa’s core principles and said, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are very important.”
Nadine and her sister Marina were shopping when they saw practitioners demonstrating the exercises. They asked where they could learn to practice. A practitioner gave them the information and then showed them the Falundafa.org website and explained that they could download the books and exercise-teaching videos for free. They happily thanked the practitioner.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organisation with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
