Ever since the Olympic Committee granted Communist China the honor of hosting the 2008 Olympics in 2001, the world has been waiting for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to fulfill its promise of improving human rights. Seven years have passed, and the CCP has tried to appear peaceful on the surface, but they are actually concealing human rights persecution in order to deceive the international community.
In the summer of 1936, an Olympic Games of unprecedented grandeur was held in Berlin, Germany, amidst the sly grins of the Nazis, with Adolf Hitler making the opening speech. The flames of the relay torch, the first in the games’ history, lit the sky throughout the Games, and in the end Germany was a proud winner of the most gold medals. Three years later, Germany blitzed through Poland, the Second World War broke out and the world was plunged into havoc.
The CCP promised to improve human rights if they were granted the right to hold the Olympic Games, but from the current situation we can see that human rights in China have not improved at all, but rather they continue to deteriorate. History will show that only the demise of the CCP can provide the Chinese people a way out.
A lot is happening around the world in this age. It is happening especially in China, where two things have caught people’s attention. One is the “rapidly developing economy,” which made the whole world open its eyes wide, and everyone is trying to join in. The other is the persecution of Falun Gong that has gone on for the last eight years. These two things highlight society’s materialistic and spiritual sides. The Chinese Communist Party’s “material development” and “spiritual persecution” are close companions to Chinese people’s, or even the entire world’s, daily lives. It is a phenomenon of modern Chinese society.
Recently, Chinese authorities sent out the following directive: Since early-April, the Chinese police have been secretly issuing “Notification on Strictly Carrying Out Background Investigations on Candidates for the Olympics and Performing a Pre-Selection Test” to each province, autonomous region, police stations and bureaus in municipalities directly under the Central Government.
Falun Gong has been here for fifteen years, from 1992 to today. The fifteen years that Falun Gong has been through demonstrates the glory of righteous belief and foretells the inevitable failure of the persecution.
“April 25” is here again. Eight years have gone by in a flash.
On April 25, 1999, boulders cracked and heaven was moved when more than 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners voluntarily and peacefully appealed in front of the State Council Appeals Office. The world was deeply moved by the confidence, self-discipline and high morality displayed by these practitioners. On July 20, 1999, Jiang and the Chinese Communist regime suddenly unleashed their brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Fabrications from all of the Communist Party-controlled media covered the newspapers and the airwaves. Huge lies filled China and the whole world. Many people, misled by the Communist regime’s propaganda, believed that “April 25” was the igniting fuse that caused this persecution.
Following the overwhelming success of the Spectacular, NTDTV is launching a global Chinese dance contest to promote cultural exchanges and to spread authentic Chinese culture. This is also an opportunity to bring Chinese dance into the world arena, as well as an important step to have Chinese dance included as one of the main art forms in the international dance culture.
The persecution against Falun Gong not only includes physical torture, but also includes manipulating the law so that lawyers cannot defend Falun Gong practitioners.
If the CCP insists on saying that people’s anti-persecution efforts and their efforts to dissolve the CCP and its Party Culture are “getting political,” then isn’t it true that the more people engage in such “getting political” activities the better?
