On February 12, 2007, the Pudong New District Court of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Shanghai illegally sentenced Hong Kong practitioner Ms. Zeng Aihua, 58, to a 3-year prison term.
If the CCP insists on saying that people’s anti-persecution efforts and their efforts to dissolve the CCP and its Party Culture are “getting political,” then isn’t it true that the more people engage in such “getting political” activities the better?
During the past few days, we have seen countless New Year’s greetings to our Teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, from all over the world. Seeing the beautiful cards and reading the touching words, all sorts of feelings well up in my mind and I’m left speechless.
Most Chinese people now know, more or less, that the CCP is bad. Yet, when facing the illegal suppression, persecution, torture, and even killing by the brutal CCP regime, how should people treat and understand it? What should they do? This is a question of the human conscience that all people need to ask themselves.
Ms Zhang and her assisting legal team believe that the case has reached a critical stage due to pressure and interference from the Chinese communist regime which effectively delayed the service of legal documents and obstructed normal proceedings.
On February 15, 2007, the NTDTV Global Chinese New Year Spectacular held two shows at Radio City in New York. The severe weather didn’t stop the enthusiastic audience. As Ms. Zhou Mei, the MC of the Spectacular, said: “The performances at the Spectacular warm up everybody.” Many people in the audience were touched by the show and gave it very high marks.
On February 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Dong was sentenced to five years in prison by the Gansu Provincial Court. His so-called “crimes” were “illegally connecting with a foreign anti-China force,” and “illegally accepting interviews.”
Folding and distributing the paper lotus flower is part of the global Petals of Peace campaign for kids as well. Practitioners let others know about innocent children and families who are affected by the brutal persecution of the spiritual practice in China.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) had a series of meetings in Australia this year. After last month’s meeting in Canberra, a minister-level meeting on minerals was held in Perth, Western Australia on February 12-16.
