(Minghui.org) The Tian Guo Marching Band from Toronto, Canada, was invited to participate in the 66th London’s Original Santa Claus Parade on November 12, 2022. The parade started at 6 p.m.
The Tian Guo Marching Band was the group before the parade’s grand finale and drew warm applause from spectators on both sides of the streets. The first snowfall of the season had blanketed the ground earlier in the day, making the whole parade all the more festive.
People recorded the Tian Guo Marching Band on their phones and many clapped along to the music. After each musical selection, the parade-goers applauded and cheered. Some commented that the Tian Guo Marching Band was their favorite part of the parade this year.
Executive director of the parade Shaun Merton said that more than 40 groups participated in the parade this year and more than 40,000 spectators lined the streets. He said that they arranged for the Tian Guo Marching Band to appear just before Santa Claus in the parade and that many spectators really loved the band.
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is What This World Needs
When Teresa heard, the Tian Guo Marching Band’s music she started to dance. She said it was the first time she’d heard them play and it was really wonderful. From the smiles on the musicians’ faces, she commented that it looked like they really enjoyed what they were doing.
When she learned that the band members are all Falun Gong practitioners who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives, she said, “I think Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is very good. This is what the world needs. Especially compassion. I tell my children when they go to school, ‘You don’t have to be smart, but you have to be kind.’”
Mackenzie took her daughter to see the parade. “Although this is the first time I’ve heard the band, I really enjoyed their music,” Mackenzie said. “I heard them playing from far away and wondered which band it was.”
She said she was interested in the words “Falun Dafa” on the banner that led the band. When she learned that the Falun Dafa practitioners live by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she said, “The world needs these principles now—this is what everyone needs to do.”
When Rachael learned that everyone in the band was a Falun Dafa practitioner, she said, “I saw the banner at the front, but I didn’t know what it was. It looks so cool. I think Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are all much needed by the world. Especially compassion. That is needed in today’s society.”
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Makes the World Better
Jessica said, “I like their music very much. The rhythm is cheerful. They are neat and their movements are unified, which I really like. Especially their costumes! The blue and white uniforms make me think they’re from Wonderland. It’s my favorite group in the whole parade.”
She also said, “I think the world really needs Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. As we can see, society today is full of many bad things. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can make the world a better place.”
Anissa cheered along with the rhythm while filming a video when the Tian Guo Marching Band passed by. She also greeted members of the band from time to time. She said, “I like their music so much. It makes me feel very powerful.” She said that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are beautiful principles.
The Canada Post entry preceded the Tian Guo Marching Band, and when the parade was over, they gave the band members a thumbs-up. One of them said, “I have been listening to their music, and I really like it. Their music helped us a lot, inspiring us to continue in such cold weather.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance—and learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
