(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Brașov organised an event on June 3, 2023 to tell people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Dafa in China.
There were two petitions: One condemned the CCP for its egregious human rights abuses, and the other called on the president of Romania to take action against the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners as well as other religious and ethnic minorities.
The event was held on Republicii Street, which is connected to Council Square, an important commercial, social, and cultural center of Brașov. That day, the practitioners’ booth saw an increased presence of tourists on account of the Pentecostal holiday weekend, and many tourists and Brașovians learn about Falun Dafa.
Romanians Sign Petitions
Two young men approached the booth and signed the petition calling for the Romanian government to condemn the CCP’s persecution.
One of the two young men, Matei Nicolae, expressed his sympathy for the suffering that the Chinese communist regime is causing people, especially the people of China.
“The regime in China is a dictatorial regime, which is obvious considering the fact that spiritual and religious practices are suppressed in that country,” Matei said.
He said he’s been aware of the situation of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, and also Christians and Uyghur Muslims whose freedoms are also suppressed. He said that he was against the many persecutions led by the Chinese regime.
“I hope I can help save these people by signing the petition,” he added.
Before leaving, Matei offered a few words of encouragement to the practitioners running the event. “Little by little, the truth will come out, the activities you are doing here on the street are helping people to learn about the terrible things that are happening in China and other places in the world,” he said.
A woman accompanied by her daughters and her elderly mother signed both petitions. She said that she was already aware of the situation in China, which she’d read about in online media articles. “I get goose bumps just thinking about what they are doing to these people! I am totally against organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners in China. I hope my signature will help them,” she said, and wished practitioners success.
A family from Ploiești visiting Brașov signed the petition. They asked where they could learn the Falun Dafa exercises near their home, and received information about the Bucharest practice site, along with some flyers and a website about Falun Dafa.
Experiencing Falun Dafa
The Falun Dafa exercise demonstrated by practitioners at the outreach event appealed to both adults and children. Two elementary school-aged girls and a toddler sat in a row and learned the fifth Falun Dafa exercise from a practitioner. Soon, other children joined the three girls.
A street artist was performing a musical program near the Falun Dafa booth. He was impressed by the practitioners’ efforts, and signed the petition. He said he wished to show his support for practitioners in China and also asked if he could put a Falun Dafa flyer and lotus flower on his microphone while he performed.
