The same Vietnamese group also hosted the 1st annual Asian Street Food Festival in Adelaide, Australia, in mid-December 2022. Practitioners set up a booth to introduce Falun Dafa and provided dance performances.

During both events, many people asked questions about Falun Dafa and signed a petition to support practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution in China. Practitioners gave out flyers and lotus flowers.

Some people learned the Falun Dafa exercises during the event while others wrote down the local group practice site locations and times and got information about the exercise instruction videos, which are available online for free on

Mr. Hung is Vietnamese and brought his family to visit practitioners’ booth during the Tet Festival. He signed the petition and expressed his support for practitioners.

“The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and forced live organ harvesting is very evil,” he said. “I hope this persecution ends immediately.”

Mr. Hung said that he had seen practitioners raising awareness in Adelaide’s city centre and Chinatown. He said practitioners looked peaceful. He wished Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, and Falun Dafa practitioners a happy new year.

Teju, from Afghanistan, said, “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are the most fundamental principles of humankind.”

Teju is a human rights defender who traveled to the United Nations to speak up for refugees. He pays attention to human rights issues, especially in places like China and southeast Asia. He understood that the CCP has committed barbaric acts and gross human rights violations during the persecution of Falun Dafa, including forced organ harvesting. He was also aware of the CCP’s concentration camps for Uyghurs and about its suppression of democracy in Hong Kong.

“The CCP has always been covering up the truth. The media does not cover much about it either. Take the current COVID-19 pandemic (CCP virus) for example, the CCP is hiding the true number of pandemic cases and the world does not know what is exactly going on in China,” he said.
