(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from Greater Dallas participated in the Arlington Holiday Lights Parade held on December 11, 2021. They demonstrated the exercises on a beautifully decorated float and carried colorful banners. Their entry was unique among hundreds of groups and was warmly welcomed.
Arlington is located between two major cities—Dallas and Ft. Worth. It is the third-largest city in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area and has a large Asian population.
The University of Texas at Arlington is located in the city’s centre. The parade route passed by City Hall and the university district. This annual event is eagerly anticipated, and people set up tents and chairs along the parade route hours before it began. They watched the parade while enjoying hot chocolate, and felt the warmth and happiness of the holiday season.
Even though the weather was unusually cold the day of the parade, the event was well attended. Hundreds of spectators lined the parade route. Some clapped or cheered when they saw the Falun Dafa entry.
When practitioners passed the rostrum, the host introduced them: “ Falun Dafa is also called Falun Gong. It is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and is a self-cultivation and self-improvement practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Dafa practitioners follow these principles every day and assimilate their lives with the characteristics of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Dafa is now practiced in more than 100 countries and regions. Falun Dafa is free and everyone is welcome to learn it!”
