Melbourne: Introducing Falun Gong and Raising Awareness on New Year’s Eve

Falun Gong practitioners in Melbourne went to City Square in the downtown area to introduce Falun Gong to the public on December 31, 2017 New Year’s Eve.

Ms. Zelan Jin, 21-year-old, lives a happy life after she started practicing Falun Gong. She gave up the opportunity to have dinner together with her family and participated in the event to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

She said, “Although Falun Gong is being persecuted in China, it has been spread across the world. I hope that people can learn about Falun Gong and help stop the persecution.”

Ms. Zelan Jin wishes for more people to know about Falun Gong.

“People Will Practice Falun Gong at the Great Wall One Day in the Future.”

Sandy Maree Lindquist and her daughter Shanell Maree Lindquist were tourists from New Zealand. They were appalled at the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Shanell said that she learned about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution 14 years ago. She said she came to know about the persecution via human rights organisations.

She learned that Falun Gong practitioners sought inner peace. Many practitioners were arrested and tortured: stripped with cold water poured over them in winter; nails poked with sharp bamboo pieces; forced to lay on nail beds, even though they are innocent.

Shanell said the belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. The practitioners are peaceful. She cannot understand why the CCP wants to persecute them, and said the persecution is too absurd.

Her mother Sandy came to know China’s human rights plight from the Tiananmen Square massacre. She was appalled to learn about the CCP’s state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.

She said, “I did not know about the live organ harvesting for profit. It is too horrible!” She could not believe that such cruel things were currently occurring. She hoped the CCP would stop the persecution and release all practitioners incarcerated.

Shanell said, “We will see that one day people will practice Falun Gong on the Great Wall.”

Designer David Cameron of Melbourne said this world was lacking truth, love and respect. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance will help people return to a more righteous life.

Cameron said that he met with Falun Gong practitioners on the street and learned about the beneficial effects of Falun Gong and health improvement. When hearing about the CCP’s live organ harvesting, he felt sorrow and thought all people who know about the persecution should help to stop it.

Designer David Cameron likes the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Software engineer Dallas Walding said he knew about the CCP’s live organ harvesting before. He stepped forward when seeing Falun Gong practitioners collecting signatures and signed the petition calling to stop the CCP’s persecution.

Software engineer Dallas Walding hopes the persecution of Falun Gong will end soon.
