Australian Parliament House Canberra: Falun Gong practitioners will urge Chinese President Xi Jinping to stop the persecution

Canberra, 15 November, 2014: Falun Dafa practitioners from around Australia will stage
multiple peaceful protests in Canberra during Xi Jinping’s visit (17-18 November), calling on the
Chinese president to end the 15-year persecution of the spiritual practice in China. The protests
will focus particularly on the state-sanctioned practice of organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa
practitioners.

ABC Radio: Falun Gong marks 10 years of being banned in China

Falun Gong practitioners are marking ten years since China banned the spiritual and exercise movement as a national security threat, in the wake of a mass demonstration by adherents in Beijing in April of 1999. Thousands have since been detained, tortured and killed. Advocates say the bodies of dead Falun Gong practitioners remain the key source of organs for the booming domestic trade in illegal transplants.
