Jiang Zemin is facing another lawsuit. In Australia, after Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying announced her intent to launch legal action against Jiang Zemin in her own name, practitioners in Sydney decided to bring forward a class action lawsuit against Jiang in Australian Federal Court. Currently, the case is in the stage of consultation and collecting materials.
The traditional paintings by Bankstown artist Zhang Cuiying were shown in
support of the Falun Gong a practice combining Taoist, Buddhist and new age
spiritual beliefs that is outlawed in China.
The Griffith University students will carry out research for the legal team
representing a practitioner of the spiritual movement, Falun Gong, who
alleges she was tortured in China.
From August 4 to August 31, 2003, an exhibition entitled “An Original Collection of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting in Memory of Qi Baishi’s 140th Birthday” was held in the Hurstville area of Sydney. Ms. Dai and her son, both Falun Dafa practitioners organized this exhibition, displaying nearly 100 precious pieces of art by renowned artists.
