From August 4 to August 31, 2003, an exhibition entitled “An Original Collection of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting in Memory of Qi Baishi’s 140th Birthday” was held in the Hurstville area of Sydney. Ms. Dai and her son, both Falun Dafa practitioners organized this exhibition, displaying nearly 100 precious pieces of art by renowned artists.
Those who were sent to the labour camps together with me were teachers, doctors, farmers who got rich from hard work, engineers and company managers. There were quite a few people with Phd or Master degrees, and even professors and tutors of Phd students.
While I was hurriedly walking into the Square, I saw a fire in the distance, and it being put out. I also saw a woman who had been on fire beaten down to the ground by a man, and another person standing on the side, leisurely taking photos and recording it all with a video camera.
After Luo Gan’s arrival in Finland, the media also published some letters from readers asking why the Finnish Parliament and Ministry for Foreign Affairs invited Luo Gan, a person with such a poor human rights record, to visit their country.
Mr. Zhang Xiaohong was only 29 years old when he died. Because of the tortures, his weight dropped from over 60 kg to approximately 32 kg. When it was obvious that he was extremely weak, he was released and his family was called to the camp on May 13, 2003 to take him home. He died at 7:00 p.m. on August 4.
This case is far from over. In fact, it is just beginning. Like the plaintiffs in Filartiga v. Pena-Irala (2nd Cir. 1980), like the plaintiffs in Pinochet, the plaintiffs in Falun Gong v. Jiang Zemin shall prevail on appeal. History will soon show that the principles which comprise the plaintiffs’ claims shall prevail.
The precious Chinese people stopped in their steps and attentively looked at the truth-clarifying posters. They were astonished to learn about the persecution in China and the fact that Jiang is being sued in the U.S. and Belgium. Many people eagerly asked for truth-clarifying literature and had various questions.
According to a firsthand account received from China on August 20th, 2003, a Falun Gong practitioner was abducted and severely beaten by police with a wooden rod while she was six months pregnant.
People often ask me how I have benefited from practising Dafa. I usually reply by talking about how it has helped me to become more relaxed, how I used to be nervous and worry about things.
By monitoring activity levels in the human brain’s prefrontal cortex, the researchers demonstrate for the first time that people who have more activity in the left side of this area also have a stronger immune response against disease.
