On Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at 12:00 — 2:00 p.m. in Washington, DC, a diverse coalition of non-governmental human rights, religious freedom, and women’s organizations, labour unions, and student groups will hold a rally to focus attention on human rights atrocities in China and to protest Chinese Communist leader Jiang Zemin’s upcoming visit to the United States in October.

We respectfully ask for your consideration to the plight of Yoko Kaneko, resident of Japan and wife of Atusi Kaneko of Niigata County as she is now suffering in a labor camp in China.
The Chief of Police stated unequivocally, “We have investigated Falun Gong and it has no problem. Falun Gong is legal in Indonesia.”

JOHANNESBURG, Sept 1 (AFP) – Members of the spiritual group Falun Gong staged a protest at the Earth Summit in Johannesburg Sunday to call for the release of practitioners held in Chinese jails.
The 16 wrongfully charged and convicted Falun Gong practitioners refused to pay the fines imposed upon them by the unjust verdict.

Hong Kong used to have the name of “the pearl of the east.” This is because it is not only an important center of trade and business in world economy but also a free, democratic, and civilized society. It is the window of converging and communication of politics and culture between the east and west.
“No amount of hatred can crush our compassionate hearts, and no propaganda can forever hide the truth.” On March 14, 2002, twelve Hong Kong practitioners joined the four Swiss to begin a quiet, three-day sit-in and hunger strike in front of the Peoples’ Republic of China Liaison Office. Photographic and video documentation (photos and timeline) clearly illustrate that the practitioners appealed peacefully, posed no threat, and left ample room for pedestrian traffic.
