Try typing “Falun Gong” into your Internet search engine in China and you will not get far. What is now known as the “Great Firewall of China” comes into action and you get a notice saying: “This page cannot be displayed.”
On Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at 12:00 — 2:00 p.m. in Washington, DC, a diverse coalition of non-governmental human rights, religious freedom, and women’s organizations, labour unions, and student groups will hold a rally to focus attention on human rights atrocities in China and to protest Chinese Communist leader Jiang Zemin’s upcoming visit to the United States in October.
The Tang Dynasty Dancers with their beautiful costumes and graceful movements were particularly popular, with dozens of people taking photos and videos whilst they performed.
“The Falun Gong practitioners in my factory are honest, hardworking, good people. But the police want to arrest them. Jiang’s regime has gone too far in abusing Falun Gong practitioners, I cannot bear it. So I asked them, ‘Falun Gong practitioners are good people, why do you only arrest those good people?’ Just for those comments, they detained me for two days and interrogated me three times.”

We respectfully ask for your consideration to the plight of Yoko Kaneko, resident of Japan and wife of Atusi Kaneko of Niigata County as she is now suffering in a labor camp in China.
I am not a Falun Gong practitioner, but I know them well. I understand what they are thinking and doing. At the same time, since I am also a police officer and a civil servant. I know clearly what the police and civil servants are thinking and doing. I can say that Jiang’s persecution against Falun Gong practitioners, using the whole Party and state apparatus, is a huge mistake. To put it simply, the persecution can be called an outrageous crime.
The Chief of Police stated unequivocally, “We have investigated Falun Gong and it has no problem. Falun Gong is legal in Indonesia.”
The River Walk Stage, Sunshine Plaza, was brimming with balloons and colourful handmade lotus flowers last Friday, as local Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners supported the ‘International Day of Peace’.
Practitioners on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland held an activity to coincide with the UN ‘International Day of Peace’ on September 21st, 2002. They displayed the magnificent and peaceful nature of Dafa and clarified the facts of the persecution to the general public through this event.
Jiang’s regime has been interrupting VOA, BBC, Free Radio Asia and Taiwan Radio for many years. Not long ago, they started to block both Chinese and Western media and set up firewalls on the Internet to block overseas websites, with an intention to smother its people with the state ideology and prevent them from knowing the truth. The interruption of the Sinosat broke through the information blockade and exposed Jiang’s selling out the country.
