San Diego, USA: The Art of Zhen Shan Ren Exhibition Held in Balboa Park

Sony Srandev, a manager at a senior centre in San Diego, said she was moved by the paintings displayed in the exhibition. She explained that some elderly people from China she met at the senior centre told her about their experiences of being imprisoned during the Cultural Revolution. Therefore, she understood the artworks that depicted the CCP’s persecution of practitioners. She said, “These paintings touched me deeply because I know some stories (that happened in China). These paintings are very good and will move people.” Srandev explained that she was from Bulgaria, had a deep understanding of communism, and knew it was bad. She said, “The younger generation should know more about what is happening in China now.”

Patricia from the Bay Area of Northern California went to Balboa Park with her two sisters and saw the art exhibition. They looked at the paintings and talked with practitioners.

Patricia and her three sisters are Christians. “We know that the CCP regime persecutes believers,” she said. “But the persecution is covered up tightly. Many people don’t know about this and think China is a good place.”

Patricia said that the art exhibition was a good way for people to learn about the CCP’s persecution. All three sisters signed a petition calling on members of Congress to support the Falun Gong Protection Act. “We hope we can help,” Patricia said.

The “Falun Gong Protection Act” was sponsored by U.S. Congressman Scott Perry on June 14 this year. It aims to impose sanctions on conspirators in live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and ban them from entering the United States. The bill was unanimously approved by the US Congress Foreign Affairs Committee at the end of June. The next step is for the full House to vote.

Many people signed the petition that day and expressed their support for Falun Gong.
