Celebrating Falun Gong while remembering those suffering in China
Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) practitioners and supporters will take part in the annual
World Falun Dafa Day parade through Sydney’s CBD on Saturday May 10, 2008. Performances
and an international art exhibition will be on display at the northern end of
the Sydney Entertainment Centre as part of the celebrations.
"The occasion is a mix of joy and concern-at once a tale of human betterment,
of tragedy and oppression, and of hope and renewal," says Falun Gong spokesperson
Kay Rubacek.
"Falun Gong teaches people to be honest, kind, and tolerant-to be healthy,
good citizens with good values and good morals. It has brought families together,
friends closer, and inner peace to many.
"We extend our sincere thanks to the City of Sydney, Sydney Harbour Foreshore
Authority, and other local authorities for their support in making annual World
Falun Dafa Day celebrations in Sydney possible."
World Falun Dafa Day 2008 marks the 16th anniversary of the introduction of
Falun Gong to the public.
