Around two hundred Australian Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of
Parliament House on Monday 8 March to urge the Australian government to raise the human
rights violations against Falun Gong practitioners in China at the UNHRC in Geneva.
There was another female practitioner who refused the injection of unknown drugs. The police then shackled all four of her limbs to a bed.
When the next school semester started two months later, the principal discovered that Liu Qian practiced Falun Gong and sent her home, claiming that she could not attend school unless she quit practicing Falun Gong and wrote a pledge renouncing the practice. Five days after this, Liu Qian was dead.
When I got there and applied for the landing visa I was rejected again. This time they gave me a reason though: My name is on their security blacklist because I practice Falun Gong.
The House of Representatives has approved a resolution calling on the Bush administration to introduce a resolution critical of China at the United Nations Human Rights Commission session in Geneva. The non-binding resolution by the House, which was passed by a vote of 402-2, comes amid continuing criticism by lawmakers of China’s human rights record.
This car tour is an attempt to appeal to the Australian government and the public to initiate a resolution at the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to condemn China’s persecution of Falun Gong. It consists of Australians who have been directly affected by the persecution.
The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp
Distribution Center is very severe. Li Yuandong, a 19-year-old female Falun Gong
practitioner has been subjected to brutal beatings at the detention center, just
for saying, “Falun Dafa is great.”
On Friday evening, 27 February 2004, Brisbane’s King George Square was transformed
by a candlelight vigil held in memory of all Falun Gong practitioners tortured
to death over the past four and a half years.
The 2004 edition of the Falun Dafa InfoCenter’s Compassion magazine was released. The magazine provides an in-depth look at the genocide targeting Falun Gong in China, legal actions around the world to stop it as well as a nation-wide campaign of peaceful civil disobedience by millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
