A hearing today will decide whether or not the federal government will be allowed
to intervene in the civil action against a Chinese official for his role in
the torture and persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Guangdong province,
China.
The Federal Attorney General’s Department intervened yesterday to stop a default judgement in the Supreme Court of NSW against a high-ranking Chinese government official for his role in the torture and persecution of two Sydney Falun Gong practitioners while they were in China. The Attorney General’s department had received correspondence from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in relation to the case.
Bo Xilai has committed serious crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong. He faces lawsuits from Falun Gong practitioners not only in Australia, but in more than ten countries including America, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Russia, and South Korea. The atrocious crimes he has committed have caused him to be unwelcome in many places of the world.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held the Health Ministers Conference on June 6, 2007, in Sydney. Falun Gong practitioners from Australia held a press conference outside the conference hall and hosted an activity titled ” Great Wall of Facts” to expose the CCP’s harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
When the CCP’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners were exposed, the international community was shocked. Last October, Australian activists established the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) Australia Chapter. Currently, the group has drawn more than 80 members including senators Andrew Bartlett, Kerry Nettle and Barnaby Joyce and MP Chris Bowen.
Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) practitioners from all around Australia will host a series of activities as part of the international celebration of World Falun Dafa Day.
Court sets aside March 2006 court orders and grants extension of time for service of legal documents to China: “It is anticipated the Registry will transmit this application for service overseas expeditiously.”
The Australian New South Wales High Court held a hearing on April 17, 2007 regarding Falun Gong practitioners Li Fuying and Xie Yan’s lawsuit against Chen Shaoji, secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Political and Judiciary, Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of Guangdong Province’s Political Consultative Committee.
