SYDNEY (FDI) – Due to the overwhelming concerns from domestic and overseas
members of Human Rights organisations, sympathetic politicians and Falun Dafa
practitioners regarding the Wang couple’s case, there is hope that there will
not be any hasty deportation.

DIMIA insisted that ordinary Falun Gong practitioners would not be persecuted; however the couple had been persecuted before they came to Australia. Furthermore, one of their family members has been persecuted to death, and another one was sentenced to forced labour camp.

Media Release: Australian Immigration Hours from Sending Elderly Couple Back to Persecution

(SFDI) Two years ago, Mr. and Ms. Wang, escaped fatal persecution and joined their son in the safety of Australia. Three years ago, Mr. Wang’s brother-in-law was tortured to death for practicing Falun Gong. Three and a half years ago, Mr. Wang, himself, was knocked unconscious from electric-shock torture by Chinese prison guards. Today, however, the Australian immigration is poised to deport him and his wife back to the persecution in China.
