(Minghui.org) Despite the heavy rainfall of India’s monsoon season, practitioners in different cities across the nation held events to mark the 27th anniversary of their peaceful protest of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.

Many passersby paused to read the display boards and expressed their support after learning about Falun Dafa and the persecution. They encouraged practitioners to continue their peaceful efforts to raise awareness.

Falun Dafa practitioners should not be persecuted. I sincerely hope this persecution ends soon,” he said.

Vilas Mehra was shocked to learn that the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners continues in China. He said, “Learning about the persecution made me reflect on how precious freedom of belief is. A peaceful cultivation practice should never be treated as a crime. I sincerely hope this injustice ends.”

Sheela Tiwari, a homemaker, was deeply moved: “No one should be persecuted for their beliefs. This should stop for the sake of humanity.”

Mumbai: People Eager to Share Information About Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioners organised a candlelight vigil on July 20, 2026, at Carter Road, Bandra, Mumbai, to raise awareness about Falun Dafa and the 27-year-long persecution of its practitioners in China. The event was attended by practitioners from different parts of Mumbai.

Many passersby were drawn to the event when they saw practitioners do the exercises with grace, even though it was raining heavily throughout the evening.

Many people stopped to observe the vigil. Visitors included elderly individuals, families with children, young couples, and other members of the public. They took the opportunity to interact with the practitioners and learn about Falun Dafa, its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and the persecution the spiritual faith has endured in China for over two decades.

One visitor, Ms. Sujata, who was deeply moved after learning about the persecution, said, “How can such a peaceful meditation practice be banned in China when it helps people and contributes to their overall well-being? Please give me a few more flyers. I would like to share this information with more of my friends.”

Her response reflected the sentiment of many attendees. They expressed genuine concern and questioned why a practice that promotes physical health, moral values, and inner peace would be banned.

Among the visitors were two young children who delighted in playing in the rain while repeatedly returning to watch the glowing candles with great curiosity. As practitioners spoke with them about Falun Dafa, they explained the importance of kindness, compassion, and the belief that good will ultimately prevail over evil. The children listened attentively and understood that persecuting people for their beliefs was wrong. Their simple yet heartfelt understanding served as a touching reminder that the value of compassion can resonate with people of all ages.

Falun Dafa Practitioners Call for End to the Persecution

Sunil Karwade, who has practiced Falun Dafa for 10 years, said that cultivating according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance has brought peace, harmony, and positive changes to his life.

“I strongly oppose this persecution and hope it ends immediately,” he said. “I came here today to commemorate practitioners who have suffered under this inhumane persecution. Falun Dafa is a peaceful cultivation practice that benefits both mind and body. It is difficult to understand why such a peaceful practice has been banned and why practitioners continue to be persecuted in China.”
