Members of US Congress urge President Obama to support Falun Gong practitioners in China

Congressional letter calls Falun Gong plight “one of the most unjust and cruel persecutions of our times.”

“We applaud these members of Congress,” says Falun Dafa Information Center spokesperson Mr. Erping Zhang, “for articulating in no uncertain terms that the United States government will not tolerate the arbitrary arrest, torture and death of Falun Gong practitioners — peaceful, law-abiding citizens — as a result of a systematic Communist Party-run campaign. We hope President Obama and his administration will heed their call.”

International Human Rights Organizations Continue to Criticise China Over the Persecution of Falun Gong

The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor under the US Department of State recently issued its 2008 Annual Report on International Religious Freedom. The report expresses concern about the lack of freedom of belief in China, as it has done in previous years. The report points out that the Chinese government continues to harshly repress religious groups, Falun Gong in particular. Falun Gong practitioners are being arrested, with some dying as a result of torture and maltreatment. The report has listed China as a “country of particular concern” since 1999.

Resisting Persecution For Nine Years – On the Memorial of “April 25”

Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) began to spread throughout the world in May 1992. It revealed the characteristic of the universe, “Zhen-Shan-Ren,” and people who began to practice quickly obtained better health while at the same time they strived to become better people. Falun Gong was spreading fast, by word of mouth, from one person to another. On April 25, 1999, after Tianjin police beat and arrested 45 Falun Gong practitioners, more than 10,000 practitioners went to the State Appeals Office near Zhongnanhai (they went to Fuyou Street) in Beijing to peacefully appeal to government officials. The appeal was handled by the premier of the State Council, who met with Falun Gong practitioners, and they reached a common understanding and reasonable resolution. The entire event went peacefully and it was over in the evening.

An Open Letter to the Australian Public – Please Help Uphold Justice

Recently, under pressure from the Chinese Communist regime, the Attorney-General of the Australian Government has filed three submissions with the Supreme Court of NSW to intervene in three separate lawsuits filed by Australian Falun Gong practitioners against officials of the Chinese Communist regime for torture and crimes against humanity.

What is Falun Dafa Trying to Teach Human Beings? –Commemorating Master Spreading the Fa Fifteen Years Ago

A lot is happening around the world in this age. It is happening especially in China, where two things have caught people’s attention. One is the “rapidly developing economy,” which made the whole world open its eyes wide, and everyone is trying to join in. The other is the persecution of Falun Gong that has gone on for the last eight years. These two things highlight society’s materialistic and spiritual sides. The Chinese Communist Party’s “material development” and “spiritual persecution” are close companions to Chinese people’s, or even the entire world’s, daily lives. It is a phenomenon of modern Chinese society.

Looking Back on the April 25 Peaceful Appeal

“April 25” is here again. Eight years have gone by in a flash.

On April 25, 1999, boulders cracked and heaven was moved when more than 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners voluntarily and peacefully appealed in front of the State Council Appeals Office. The world was deeply moved by the confidence, self-discipline and high morality displayed by these practitioners. On July 20, 1999, Jiang and the Chinese Communist regime suddenly unleashed their brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Fabrications from all of the Communist Party-controlled media covered the newspapers and the airwaves. Huge lies filled China and the whole world. Many people, misled by the Communist regime’s propaganda, believed that “April 25” was the igniting fuse that caused this persecution.
