Four of the thirteen artists personally experienced torture and beating at the hands of Chinese authorities. Their art conveys equally the persecution and also the unyielding perseverance of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
A renowned human rights organization in Tanzania passed a resolution several days ago condemning Chinese ex-president Jiang Zemin’s human rights violations against Falun Gong practitioners, and supporting bringing Jiang to justice.
On October 26, 2004, New Zealand Human Rights barrister Chris Lawrence, representing 11 Falun Gong practitioners, filed a civil lawsuit in the Auckland High Court in New Zealand, to accuse chief culprits in the persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin and his accomplices.
AUCKLAND— Eleven NZ citizens and residents filed a lawsuit in the Auckland High Court today against Jiang Zemin, the former president of China.
India Falun Dafa Association registered as an non-profit organization in Bombay in September 2004, and the association then became a legal group recognized by the Indian Government. The founding of India Falun Dafa Association formally tells the world that the ancient nation with the second largest population in the world has formally embraced Falun Dafa.
At 8pm Eastern Time on October 4, 2004, the House of the Representatives in the U.S. unanimously passed H. Con. Resolution 304, expressing the sense of Congress regarding oppression by the Government of the People’s Republic of China of Falun Gong in the United States and in China.
The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court’s immunization of the former leader of China, Jiang Zemin, for alleged genocide, torture and crimes against humanity perpetrated against practitioners of Falun Gong in China.
Dr. Terri Marsh, attorney for the plaintiffs, commented, “[Former leader] Jiang Zemin does not enjoy immunity under US law or under the international standards created in the wake of Nuremberg and affirmed and re-affirmed by domestic and international courts around the globe.”
Plaintiffs will file an appeal to the US Supreme Court, and if necessary to the United Nations Commissions on Genocide and Torture.
On the afternoon of September 2nd a criminal lawsuit against Jia Qinglin was filed in the “Audiencia Nacional” of the National Spanish Court system, in Madrid, Spain. Jia Qinglin was accused of the crimes of genocide and tortures against practitioners of Falun Gong in China.
The thirty-two-year-old Austrian of Chinese descent has serious problems: At the beginning of July, he applied for a passport extension at the Chinese Consulate in Vienna, but was refused. He was informed verbally that this decision was made because he is a Falun Gong practitioner, but a written refusal was not granted.
Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners are traveling to Manhattan to conduct several large-scale events for the more than 45,000 people scheduled to attend the Republican National Conventional. Practitioners of Falun Gong are coming from as far away as Taiwan and Australia to show RNC attendees and the people of New York how tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China are suffering under brutal persecution in China.
