(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Hiroshima, Japan, were invited to participate in the 53rd Kabe Community Centre Festival on November 1, 2026. They gave waist drum performances and demonstrated and taught the Falun Dafa exercises. Many people tried the exercises and said they felt refreshed afterwards.
Kabe has a long history and is located less than 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the center of Hiroshima. It has been an important transportation and commercial hub since the Edo period. Falun Dafa practitioners have held free classes at the local community center since 2016. During the annual festival, they volunteered to help set up the venue and the organisers repeatedly expressed their gratitude.
Many audience members arrived early on the day of the festival. Dressed in colorful outfits, the practitioners performed a spirited waist drum dance on stage, drawing rounds of applause from the crowd.
The practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises afterward. The moderator introduced Falun Dafa and explained that it has a positive impact on physical and mental health. Many audience members imitated the exercise movements, and afterwards a yoga club member told practitioners, “I followed your hand gestures while you did the exercises. Falun Dafa is fabulous!”

Trying the Exercises and Commending the Practice
A woman in a harmonica group followed along as practitioners did the exercises. She said afterward, “I feel that this practice is very good.” She took some flyers and asked where and at what time practitioners meet to do the exercises.
Ms. Kamioka and her daughter followed along with the movements as practitioners demonstrated the exercises onstage. Afterwards, Ms. Kamioka said she felt refreshed, and she planned to go to the community center to learn more about Falun Dafa.

Ms. Hotta, along with two other members of her group, did the first set of Falun Dafa exercises. She said her entire body felt warm after she did the exercise. The practitioner told her that Falun Dafa is a practice for both physical and mental well-being, which also emphasises aligning oneself with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. She explained that Truthfulness means being sincere in speech, thought, and conduct, without any concealment or pretense.
“Yes, if there were no pretense it would be much easier to interact with others,” Ms. Hotta agreed. “In the past, whenever I finished a piece of work, I would want to show it to this person or that person. I realised later that I was showing off. I let go of that impulse and focused entirely on creation. The fewer distracting thoughts, the more powerful my work becomes.”
