(Minghui.org) In late January 2025, the eight touring companies of Shen Yun Performing Arts continued to share the beauty and depth of genuine Chinese culture with audiences in Europe, North America, and Asia simultaneously.
“A Dream Come True”
Texas Senator Angela Paxton saw Shen Yun in Dallas on January 24. She described the experience as “a dream come true.”
“I’ve never seen anything like this… So beautiful, so graceful, so elegant,” she said.
“I felt a tremendous amount of energy [throughout the show.] One of the things I was thinking about is that I’m 61, a mom, and a grandmother. I’m already figuring out how to bring my little grandchildren to see this. I think they would be just transfixed the entire time.
“This is the China that is the real China. The China many of us interact with today is a very recent phenomenon. I’m just thankful to have friends who are Chinese in descent who have helped me understand that what we see today doesn’t reflect the true heart of China,” Sen. Paxton said.
She would like to tell the artists to “keep doing what you’re doing” and use the talent that has been given by God to “spread a message that everyone in the world needs to hear.”
“You have to see this. You have to make time because it will inspire you. It will cause you to think deeply about the value of human life, and it will cause you to want to do good, and be kind, and make a difference in the world,” she said.
San Diego County Officials Welcome Shen Yun
Before Shen Yun’s performances in California’s San Diego area in March and April, the company received proclamations from two cities’ elected officials.
“Grace, Poise, and Strength”
Company president Tim Runcie saw Shen Yun in Portland, Oregon, on January 23.
“I would describe it as grace, and poise, and strength. There was so much energy, and yet they did it so effortlessly,” Mr. Runcie said.
“I think we are all spiritual creatures, and it was really nice just to see a connection with the Chinese belief and then some of the roots of where it came from.
“An incredible way to connect with Chinese culture: both past, present, and future,” he said.
“We’re Very Grateful”
Retired construction company CEO Larry Schlecht saw Shen Yun in Portland, Oregon, on January 23.
“This was beautiful, very beautiful. The show was absolutely phenomenal,” he said.
“It was mystical, magical, just so beautiful. I was fascinated with how beautiful they were up there—the dances and the choreography. They were all just beautiful.
“It’s very important, it’s important in the United States, too, that we give back to tradition. Tradition should also bring peace to all of us. So, very impressed. Very impressed,” he said.
Mr. Schlecht also commented on how the influence of China’s communist regime is reaching into the West. “We stay up on the news and realize how the Chinese communist government is trying to get [Shen Yun] out of business. No thanks to some of those publications that have been giving [them] bad press,” he expressed.
“The rest of us don’t believe it. We know what [Shen Yun] stands for, and we’re very grateful,” he said.
“I think we all enjoyed the lady on the two-stringed [instrument.] The instrument was so beautiful and so mystic, and it was spectacular. We loved it,” he said of the erhu solo.
Last but not least, he would like to extend his heartfelt compliments to the performers.
“All the dancers in sync up there—you could tell the hard work they put in to make this beautiful for the audience,” he said. “I’m so very grateful they conveyed that [beauty] to the audience as well as they did.”
“It’s Like Entering a Fairy Tale”
Actress Nicoletta Maragno saw Shen Yun in Bergamo on January 22.
“It’s very poetic. It’s really beautiful. It’s like entering a fairy tale,” said Ms. Maragno.
“There is not only external energy but also internal energy because there is great grace and harmony.
“It’s worth seeing, not only because of the greatness of these professionals but also because of the profound message of harmony it leaves and the warmth in your heart the moment you see the show,” she said.
“Awaken People’s Divinity”
Symphony orchestra conductor Giuseppe Gelmini and his wife saw Shen Yun in Bergamo on January 24.
“In the performance, both the dance movements and music, especially the music, showed a kind of ultimate gentleness and delicacy,” Mr. Gelmini said.
“I truly experienced the ‘beauty of divine beings dancing.’ It was really almost a miracle… Shen Yun’s performers demonstrated divinity in all the programs. All their movements were so light.
“The performance conveyed a spiritual message. Because the show is full of beauty, and this kind of beauty can awaken people’s divinity. Therefore, without a doubt, the scenes in the show are from the divine. Shen Yun’s great ability to directly touch the human heart must come from the divine,” he said.
