(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an informational event at Ramat Gan National Park on Saturday, October 26, 2024, to give the public an opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of the practice in China.
Through these activities, many people learned the Falun Dafa exercises, as well as the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Visitors said that these values were very positive and could help people relax and find inner peace.
Teaching the Exercises
The exercise demonstration drew many passersby who stopped to watch. Some people learned the exercises on the spot. Niv from the city of Bat Yam is a marketing manager with a large consulting company. He and his friend received a flier and tried out the exercises.
“I used to meditate in the past and thought this was a wonderful opportunity,” Niv said. “[The exercises were] relaxing, it was a chance to really relax – a cause for celebration.”
One woman asked a practitioner how she handles the chaotic situation of Israel being at the centre of unrest in the Middle East. After she learned how practitioners focus on cultivating themselves and their inner state according to the principles of Falun Dafa, she was quite impressed, and said, “Thoughts create reality.” She also said she was glad to meet the practitioner.
Children Learn About Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
The practitioners organised a workshop centered around the lotus as a symbol for cultivation and read the children’s book The Lotus Story to the children who attended the workshop. The storybook was written by two practitioners, and showed children the benefits and positivity of living according to the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
Practitioners also demonstrated classical Chinese dance. Children were especially drawn to this, as they were encouraged to put on a variety of costumes. Practitioners explained to them that with this dance style, the dancer’s inner self is just as important as the technical elements of precision, flexibility, and rhythm.
“More children continuously joined, and some refused to leave. The kids enthusiastically said this was a wonderful experience,” said a practitioner who was in charge of teaching dance.
The Benefits of Practicing Falun Dafa
Rachel from the city of Ramat Gan started to practice three months ago after learning the Falun Dafa exercises from a practitioner at this same park. She is now returning the favor for other Israelis so they can benefit from the practice just like she did.
“I met a man in this park who offered to show me the exercises. I tried it at first with personal instructions, and then I kept coming every Saturday [to the exercise site]. I also practice at home and read the book Zhuan Falun, and I’ve slowly made progress,” she said.
Though Rachel has always been active, she felt that Falun Dafa was special in that it was not only a physical exercise, but could also help improve a practitioners’ character. “On the subject of compassion – I have improved significantly. In the past, I was always ‘black or white’ and quite extreme. Now I find myself to be much more balanced,” she said.
Rachel brought her friend Dana to the event, who was also interested in Falun Dafa. “Rachel showed me the exercises at school and we practiced together a bit. It really relaxes me. It feels peaceful. Here, I managed to do all five exercises, even though they were shorter,” said Dana. “I truly hope to incorporate the exercises into my life and slowly advance forward, as well as read the book and delve deeper.”
