(Minghui.org) Practitioners in the UK participated in the Meadows Festival Edinburgh on June 1 and 2, 2024. They introduced Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, and performed the traditional Chinese dragon and waist-drum dances. Many people signed up for the upcoming Falun Dafa workshop. Some said they were interested in learning the exercises from the online instruction videos.

People at the Meadows Festival enjoy watching practitioners’ performances.

The dragon and waist-drum dances were a popular feature at the festival and were rewarded with waves of applause and cheers. Many people followed the dancers and took pictures and videos. Children jumped and cheered. When practitioners distributed flyers, many people started to read them right away. Some told practitioners, “Falun Dafa is the only thing I can remember from the festival.”

Suzanne Spencer, who worked for the festival, joined the dragon dance around the meadow. Energised by the dance, she said, “This is the first time we have ever had a dragon dance since the festival started in 1974.” She also had praise for the principles of Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance: “It’s the best spirit!”

Hazel, who works for the festival, complimented practitioners for their outstanding performances and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Susan Davidson was fascinated by the dragon dance. She took pictures of it and shared them with practitioners. “Gorgeous! Look at the wonderful clouds in the sky during their dance!”

Maga Palvar and her friend Hannah Paterson joined practitioners as they did the exercises. They both signed up for the upcoming workshop.

“I like the words on your shirt,” Hannah said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are universal, core values. I think the practice should be good for health. It’s worth trying.”

Jessica and her friend Cinva signed up for the workshop after reading introductory flyers. They said they had been looking for a way to bring peace to their busy lives and work.

Jessica (left) and Cinva said they would like to strive to be Truthful and Compassionate and to have Forbearance.

A man told a practitioner that he escaped from China two years ago. “I definitely won’t go back,” he said. “The Chinese Communist Party persecutes all Chinese, not just Falun Dafa. I know more about it than you. The Party can do anything. I have quit all the communist organisations.” The man said that he sympathised with practitioners because there was nothing wrong with following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Several Chinese students decided to quit the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) organisations they’d once joined after they heard about the persecution.

Cristina Alvarez said, “The universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are important for everyone.”
