(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners set up an information stand at the Utrecht Central Station every week to tell passersby about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. They hand out flyers, demonstrate the exercises, and collect signatures on a petition to end the CCP’s persecution and live organ harvesting.

This May and June, practitioners have been holding activities at Utrecht Central Station as usual. Many passersby who stop to sign the petition have shared their thoughts on why they choose to support practitioners.

On June 2, after learning about the persecution, undergraduate student Lukas Pool said that the crimes happening in China and that fact that the CCP did not allow people to practice was terrible. The Dutch people signing the petition was just a small effort in comparison. “Yes, this is atheism [imposed by the CCP]. People are oppressed by the government, and you certainly don’t want this to happen to humanity,” Pool said.

Falun Dafa teaches Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and practitioners use them as a moral guide. Pool said that they should be allowed to practice these values freely and should not be persecuted for their belief.

Pool said, “Of course a person should be able to do what he wants, believe and live according to his own wishes, and that is impossible in China.”

Falun Dafa Helps People To Be Calm

On May 19, after learning about the persecution, psychologist Femke Wolf was surprised that Chinese practitioners were being persecuted for upholding their belief.

“I think it’s terrible that people do this for power or because of differences of opinion. It’s important that everyone should be allowed to live freely,” she said.

Seeing practitioners meditating in front of Utrecht Station, Wolf said, “When you can find that kind of inner peace, it’s a beautiful thing, especially in today’s society. Everything is developing so fast, everyone wants more things. But one thing is certain: People should persist in doing [the right thing] from beginning to end.”

She said, “I think it is important to follow these principles [Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance] in one’s life. I don’t know if everyone can practice it well, but meditating, thinking, and doing it consciously can make you better able to follow [the principles]. So I think it [Falun Dafa] is very good.”

Dr. Jitse Daniëls is a professor of history at the University of Groningen. On June 2, he signed the petition after learning about the persecution. He said that he signed it because the persecution in China is so disturbing.

“The persecution is so bad because it is largely ignored, especially in China and in news reports there. So I think it is really important that the persecution is put on the Western agenda, to put pressure on the CCP so that it is no longer invisible. If not, it can of course continue to get away with it.”

Falun Dafa and meditation are not unfamiliar to Daniëls. He said, “I have read about Falun Dafa and the CCP’s persecution; an acquaintance of mine practices it. I know that this is a very neutral and peaceful way of life, and there is no reason to persecute it in any way. So what is happening in China is a crime.”

He said that the principles of Falun Dafa are important and can help people live in harmony.

He said, “The Chinese communist government is against these values, so I think it’s important for Chinese people to make their voices heard.”

He also discussed the persecution with his friends and forwarded the petition.
