(Minghui.org) Practitioners from the capital Buenos Aires and elsewhere in Argentina held several activities before and on May 13 to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.
For this significant celebration, practitioners from all corners of Argentina, including Salta in the north, the southern cities of Neuquén, Bariloche, and Comodoro Rivadavia, and nearby cities like Tandil and Luján, came together in Buenos Aires.
They said they wanted to celebrate this glorious day by introducing people to the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa and informing them of the fact that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting it in China
Over 20 Years in Chinatown
Practitioners demonstrate the Falun Dafa exercises every weekend and clarify the truth to thousands of people who visit Chinatown in Buenos Aires. The CCP, using the Chinese Embassy in Buenos Aires, has tried for years to remove practitioners from the streets of Chinatown. It has tried many different tactics, from bribing local government officials to sending thugs to harass them.
Undeterred by the tricks employed by the Chinese embassy, practitioners have shown remarkable resilience over the years. Their weekly presence in Chinatown has not only become a familiar sight for locals and tourists but also a testament to their unwavering determination.
The weekend of May 13 was no exception. Many practitioners took part in this activity.
Raising Awareness at the Chinese Embassy
On May 13, Falun Dafa Day, practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy early in the morning to clarify the facts to passersby and drivers who stopped at the intersection in front of and next to the embassy. Distributing fliers to cars that stop at traffic lights is one way practitioners in Buenos Aires reach out to people.
Many people from mainstream society and government officials drive by the Chinese Embassy and have had the chance to receive fliers. Many of them are aware of the CCP’s cruel persecution. Having noticed their peaceful presence in front of the Chinese Embassy for decades, they are impressed by the practitioners’ resilience. That evening, a man who was taking his wife out to dinner to celebrate her birthday was handed information about Dafa in a restaurant run by practitioners. He was surprised to see that he’d been the same flier that morning when he drove by the Chinese Embassy. His wife was very pleased to find out that her birthday coincided with World Falun Dafa Day.
Many passersby and drivers have condemned the persecution and congratulated practitioners on their efforts. During an incident in 2018, when practitioners were harassed by Chinese hoodlums and the police in a public place, one of the most well-renowned journalists in Argentina (from a mainstream media outlet) reported that Falun Dafa practitioners were very peaceful and good. He said he knew them because he frequently drove by the Chinese Embassy on his way to work.
After the events, practitioners gathered to share their experiences. They were touched by people’s reactions and felt encouraged to continue doing the three things.
A Gift from Master
Argentinian practitioners try to help practitioners in Cuba and Venezuela, where the conditions are difficult. In April, practitioners in Buenos Aires sent 30 copies of Zhuan Falun and thousands of Gangjing World cards to practitioners in Venezuela.
Given the state of things in Venezuela, practitioners were unsure if the shipment would ever arrive and how long it would take. Amazingly, it arrived at a practitioner’s home in Venezuela on May 13, as if it were a gift from Master.
A similar shipment from Argentina was also sent to Cuba earlier this year. It finally arrived at its destination after weeks of delay due to the strict customs and import restrictions in communist Cuba. The practitioners in Cuba reported the good news: “The books arrived safely, thanks to everyone’s righteous thoughts.”
Steady Truth Clarification Efforts Change the Environment in Argentina
Throughout these more than 20 years, practitioners in Argentina, guided by the teachings of Dafa, have persisted in clarifying the truth using different channels. From clarifying the truth at public events and in public places to making phone calls to politicians, from going to Congress and participating in VIP events to their continuous presence in Chinatown and at the Chinese Embassy, the environment in Argentina has steadily changed for the better. More and more people wish to learn about Falun Dafa.
