San Diego, U. S.: Introducing Falun Dafa at the Vietnamese Lunar New Year Celebration

This is the 19^th year the Vietnamese community in San Diego held the popular event. In addition to amusement park games, there were nearly one hundred food and information stalls.

Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises in front of their booth, drawing many people to stop to learn more. Many talked with practitioners and asked for information about Falun Dafa. Others said they had seen practitioners meditating in a park.

An elderly man bought the book Zhuan Falun in Vietnamese. He said he heard about Falun Dafa before and wished to read the book.

A couple from China told practitioners they watched a Falun Dafa parade in New York and they thought it was amazing. They chatted with practitioners for a long time and learned more about Falun Dafa. They happily accepted a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and other materials.

A high school student who came to the U.S. when he was in kindergarten worked as a volunteer during the event. He talked with practitioners and said he heard about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa, “I know that the CCP has committed many crimes.” A practitioner told him more about the persecution and explained what Falun Dafa is and that practitioners follow Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to be good people.

Many people said they liked the phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” A mother with two children from Taiwan came to the booth, and a practitioner told them that the phrases help remind the children to be good and kind to each other. The mother agreed and took some information about Falun Dafa.
