(Minghui.org) Dafa practitioners in Bulgaria held a series of activities to introduce Falun Dafa in several cities in June 2023. They held activities in Sofia the capital city, Plovdiv the second largest city, and Varna, a city on the Black Sea.

Many Bulgarians were not only interested in this mind-body cultivation practice and Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, they also expressed concern about the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa in China.

Practitioners held two signature collection events in Sofia and Varna on June 10, to raise awareness about the forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience conducted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in China. This was the first time practitioners held a nationwide appeal. The petition called on countries, citizens, doctors, hospitals, medical universities and businesses to not participate in the CCP’s organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, either directly or indirectly.

Varna is a well known tourist city in Bulgaria. Many tourists from overseas were already familiar with the persecution of Falun Gong in China. They spoke to practitioners and did not hesitate to sign the petition to call for an end to the forced organ harvesting.

In Sofia, the practitioners’ booth drew people from a variety of backgrounds. Elderly people had a good understanding of the bloody history of communist rule, and listened as practitioners talked about the persecution in China in detail. They condemned the CCP for its crimes, and said that suppression of faith, and the organ harvesting, should not be condoned. Children were drawn to the colorful array of information displayed on the table. Their parents subsequently came up to sign the petition.

 

We Should Teach Our Children Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

Besides expressing support for Falun Gong practitioners in China, many people also gained a deep impression of the values taught by Falun Dafa. A middle-aged woman said, after she learned that practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, “These are amazing principles, we should teach our children these values.”

A tourist from Germany stopped in his tracks and said, “I saw Falun Dafa activities in Germany in the past. I want to know more about this cultivation practice.”

A couple from England said they saw practitioners’ activities in London, and thus were familiar with the persecution in China.

A young couple were thrilled to be introduced to Falun Dafa and said they wanted to give it a try.

I Oppose the Persecution of Falun Gong in China

Practitioners held another activity in Varna on June 24, 2023 to raise awareness about the ongoing brutalities in China.

A woman was shocked to hear about the CCP’s organ harvesting atrocity. She said, “I cannot accept that this is happening! I cannot imagine how someone can do such a terrible thing!”

An elderly man’s eyes teared up when he was told that the organs of innocent Falun Gong practitioners were removed without consent while in prison. After signing the petition, he said with a shaking voice, “I must leave this place first before I start to cry.”

A woman walked up to the table and signed the petition even before practitioners could explain the situation to her. She said, “I know about this already. I oppose the persecution of Falun Gong.”

Plovdiv: Bringing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to Children and Their Parents

Plovdiv is one of the oldest cities in Europe with a history of over 6,000 years. Practitioners took part in a book reading activity at a cultural festival in the city on June 15, 2023. They shared with children and their parents the importance of following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in daily life.

A mother brought her daughter, who has an attention deficit disorder, to the Falun Dafa table. As the girl learned how to make paper lotus flowers, her mother kept reminding her to pay attention. To the woman’s delight, not only was her daughter able to make a lotus flower successfully, she even focused and listened attentively as people read stories out loud.

Bulgarians Sign Petition to Call for an End to the Persecution

Dafa practitioners from Stara Zagora and Plovdiv held an activity on the steps of Kamenitsa in downtown Plovdiv, in the afternoon of June 25.

There were two petitions at the activity: one to end the CCP and the other to call on the Bulgarian government and its people to not participate in the CCP’s forced organ harvesting crimes. Many passersby signed both petitions to show their support for persecuted practitioners in China.
