Falun Dafa practitioners performed in the Australia Day Parade on January 26, 2017 in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. They have been invited to this event every year for over a decade. The practitioners brought a colorful float and demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises in traditional costumes.
The Dafa practitioners drew much attention from spectators among the over 150 participating groups. Many said they liked the banner reading “The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
Chen Hao, a Chinese student from Zhejiang Province, said he was glad to see the practitioners: “I like the bright colors and the peacefulness of the group.” He said such scenes cannot be seen in China, where Falun Dafa has been suppressed since the communist government began persecuting it in July 1999.
Upon learning of the brutal persecution, several tourists and students renounced their memberships in the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Mr. Zhang, a practitioner in the parade, explained the importance of the event: “I am so happy these [spectators] have chosen to support the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This will benefit them in the long term.”
