Fabricated Evidence
Ms. He was arrested by Liu Tiejun and officers from the Huizhan Police Department, Saertu District, on June 13. She has been taken to the Daqing City Detention Center. The police forwarded her case to the Saertu District Procuratorate, but the case was returned due to lack of evidence.
Liu Tiejun and others fabricated evidence against her and resubmitted the case to the procuratorate in early August. The procuratorate eventually submitted Ms. He’s case to the Saertu District Court at the end of September and suggested that the court sentence Ms. He to up to two years.
After Ms. He’s case was forwarded to the Saertu District Procuratorate, her family asked a few times for an update on the status of her case. However, they were kept out of the procuratorate and only met once with Zhang Dajun, the officer in charge of Ms. He’s case.
Zhang said that he only dealt with attorneys and did not give them any information.
Ms. He’s attorney urged Zhang to drop the case due to lack of evidence and release Ms. He. Instead, the case was turned over to the court.
Ms. He’s family inquired about Ms. He’s pending trial a few times in October but were told that court staff would only speak with attorneys.
