Prime Minister Rudd is requested by Falun Gong to condemn the persecution at the 10-year commemoration

With the spotlight on human rights and fair trade in the world with China recently
hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners and supporters will join a large-scale
candlelight vigil and street parade this Sunday (19/07/09) to mark 10 years
of brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese communist
regime.

"Prime Minister Rudd, we urge you to seize the moment and publicly affirm
your concern for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong adherents
in China," say Falun Dafa spokesperson, John Deller.
"61 Members of the US Congress have urged President Obama to ‘speak very
clearly and specifically’ in support of Falun Gong practitioners in China who
are suffering as one of the most unjust and cruel persecutions of our times.
At this crucial time, the 10-year anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong,
there is an opportunity for governments that have the courage of conscience,
to change the course of history for the better."
