Falun Gong voices during APEC

¨End the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in
China¨

29 August (FDI)- During the time of APEC meetings in Sydney, Falun Gong practitioners
from around Australia request that our Prime Minister, John Howard, openly urge
the Chinese Communist Party delegates at APEC ’07 that Australians want the
Chinese Communist regime to immediately and unconditionally end the persecution
of Falun Gong and release all Falun Gong prisoners of conscience.

¨APEC nations hold a responsibility to help end the persecution of Falun
Gong. Organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners is a crime against
humanity,¨ said Mr John Deller, Falun Gong spokesperson in reference to
the illegal practise of organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Organ trade is a billion-dollar industry in China, where it can take as little
as 2 weeks to obtain a kidney.

According to a 40-page independent report released by the former Canadian Secretary
of State (Asia-pacific) David Kilgour and human rights lawyer David Matas, over
40,000 transplants have been unaccounted for in China. They concluded that majority
are likely to have come from a live organ bank of Falun Gong practitioners.
