Manly Daily (Australia): Silent protest by Falun Gong

FALUN Gong practitioners staged a silent protest outside the office of Warringah federal MP Tony Abbott yesterday afternoon.

Two people held a banner protesting against alleged human rights abuses carried out by the Chinese Government on Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, practitioners.

They handed out pamphlets which called on people to lobby Prime Minister John Howard to raise Falun Dafa’s concerns with the Chinese leadership.

Falun Gong is a meditation and exercise-based practice designed to improve the mind and body.

Spokeswoman Ruby Wong said they wanted Mr Abbott to investigate allegations the Chinese Government is murdering Falun Gong followers and harvesting their organs.

The Chinese Government has ridiculed the claims.
