At 6 a.m. on October 1, 2009, after being long term harassed, threatened, and cruelly persecuted, Ms. Yang Xiaojing died while her husband Mr. Cao Dong who has met with European Parliament Vice President Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott in Beijing on 21 May 2006, remains in Gansu Province Prison located in Tianshui City.
51-year-old Falun Gong Practitioner Died in May; Brother-in-law died in 2007; Wife still imprisoned, at risk of torture.
Mr. Wang Chongjun, age 65, died at home on August 23, 2008 after being
injected with an unknown drug in a Beijing labor camp, according to sources
in China. His wife, Ms. Wang Zhiqin, remains illegally detained and is unaware
of her husband’s death.
The Falun Dafa Information Center has learned the details of nine Falun Gong adherents who died in December and January, either in police custody or shortly after their release.
During the month of June the Falun Dafa Information Center has recorded the deaths of 20 Falun Gong adherents as a result of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of the practice. Some of the deaths took place as early as January 2007 but only became known in June due to the difficulties and dangers involved in obtaining such sensitive information from inside China.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues committing crimes, even though its persecution of Falun Gong has been widely exposed and spurns widespread condemnation from the international community. Instead, the Party has resorted to more sinister and concealed methods.
In April 2007, an additional twenty one deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in China due to torture were confirmed. Among them, sixteen practitioners died between January and March in 2007 and five died in April 2007. Eight practitioners, 38 percent, were females, and thirteen, 67 percent, were seniors over fifty years old.
The deaths of Xu and Shen come close on the heels of the U.S. Department of State’s annual human rights Country Reports, released March 6, and confirm in chilling detail allegations of abuse at the hands of China’s communist authorities.
Zhang is one of nearly 3,000 Falun Gong practitioners whose deaths due to torture and abuse by police in China have been documented.
The deaths of 17 Falun Gong practitioners who died as a result of the persecution in China were verified in September 2006. The deaths of 2,966 Falun Gong practitioners from persecution have been verified despite the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s strict information blockade.
