I write on behalf of a local colleague of Falun Dafa members in our area, seeking an update on a very disturbing incident in Republic of South Africa involving Australian citizens who are also Falun Dafa practitioners.
The Sydney University Falun Dafa Club took part in a food fair for the University’s Multicultural Day earlier this month. The club provided traditional Chinese dumplings and egg-tarts for the students, and performed a demonstration of the Falun Dafa exercises.
Three months after Huang Ying’s birth in August 2001, she was forced to separate from her mother who was practicing Falun Dafa. On December 5, 2002, when she was one-and-a-half years old, little Huang Ying saw her mother’s body.
On October 5, 2004, a media event was held in front of the Chinese Consulate in Sydney by Falun Gong practitioners in order to condemn the secret arrest of the Falun Gong practitioner Li Liang of Tianjin city of northern China, brother of Li Ying who currently is living in Sydney.
AFP – The US House of Representatives approved a measure urging the Chinese government to immediately stop hostile actions against the Falun Gong spiritual group both in China and the United States.

At 8pm Eastern Time on October 4, 2004, the House of the Representatives in the U.S. unanimously passed H. Con. Resolution 304, expressing the sense of Congress regarding oppression by the Government of the People’s Republic of China of Falun Gong in the United States and in China.
On Saturday 25th of September Falun Dafa in the Southern Highlands New South Wales Australia held a Hongfa and Parade for Bowral Tulip Time, which is a spring garden festival draws tens of thousands of tourists (including from China).
Ms. Zhang Cuiying, a renowned artist of traditional Chinese paintings from Sydney, held a press conference on September 16, 2004 in front of the Supreme Court and disclosed her filing of a lawsuit in Supreme Court of New South Wales Australia against the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for genocide, torture and crimes against humanity.
In the last few days the University of Western Sydney’s Falun Dafa Club
held a floral tribute to remember the 1,000 Falun Dafa practitioners who had been
tortured to death in China, during the last five years of persecution.
The event was held at Penrith campus as part of the university Human
Rights Environmental Student Collective’s organised human rights day.
