The historic legal action against Member of the Chinese State Council Chen Zhili has taken a major step forward. The preliminary judgment in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on August 3 was in favor of the Falun Gong practitioners in Ethiopia, on whose behalf attorneys brought the case.
Through a series of on-line news, people may have recently become clearer about the disaster that Jiang Zemin’s faction has brought to the nation-wide educational system during the persecution of Falun Gong. It may not be excessive to say that China’s educational institutions are marching toward complete deterioration.
The civil suit was filed on July 19th as the former Minister of Education, Ms. Chen Zhili, was visiting several African nations. The suit was filed on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners. Also on July 19th, Chen was summoned to appear before the Tanzanian court in reference to the case.
The Ontario Superior Court directed the Bank of China to seize applicable assets from the Vice Consul General of China, Pan Xinchun’s bank account for refusing to follow a court order to pay damages when he was found liable for defamation last February in an unprecedented case.
Over the last 5 years, Falun Dafa practitioners on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland have presented regular information displays within the seven main libraries of our local community. These displays have offered the public a unique opportunity to learn more about Falun Dafa.
How can we, as a civilised and democratic society, find our conscience to oppose acts of terrorism and help bring those responsible to justice when we are not informed of such matters?
One man passed by our exhibit, after watching the exhibition, he said, “This is very powerful. I knew little about what is happening in China until now. To think that people are being tortured this way, at this very moment, is shocking. It makes one feel that one wants to know more about the persecution and do something about it.”

Last week Hungarian, German, Ukrainian and Australian practitioners held Falun Dafa activities in Hungary’s capital city, Budapest. Activities included a peaceful appeal and press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy.
